I purchased a Toshiba 50-Pint 115-*********** STAR MOST EFFICIENT Dehumidifier with Continuous Operation Function on 06/25/2020 from ********** for $229. Toshiba warrants the product for 1 year that covers all parts and labor. I started noticing ice buildup on the coils in June of 2021. However, the manual states the following under their troubleshooting section in the manual; "Frost appears on the coils" - "This is normal. The dehumidifier has Auto defrost feature." I unplugged the unit and let the ice melt and dry and restarted the unit. It never worked right again. The water collection bucket never got full again and the humidity never decreased. After realizing the manual was likely misleading, I looked back at reviews of the product on **********. Sure enough, others are also experiencing the same failure just after the warranty period. The unit they sold myself and hundreds of others are defective. They refuse to make it right and won't answer any further inquiries.
