I purchased extended warranty on my first set of mentor implants that were put in, they dropped, and I had to have a revision surgery. When I had other mentor implants put in, warranty didn't transfer over, nor was I given a refund or partial credit. I am now facing capsular contracture ***** grade III (for which medical expenses are partially covered under extended warranty) and it is horrible that I am not given the support and coverage I expected when I made an expense for the higher warranty that should've covered me for 10 years and given me peace of mind. I do not have the money for all the extra expenses that come along with the surgery. My initial surgery was 7/30/19 and I had smooth round moderate plus profile implants put in. I had a revision surgery on 6/15/21 with smooth round high profile implants put in.I was not advised that the initial warranty would be non-transferable in case of changing implants. I would think it's the same thing since the implant styles are both covered under the enhanced warranty. I am told there is nothing to do, and I do not agree. I believe I should be covered on the initial warranty I purchased. Even if we had shortened the time of the 10 years, on the implants that had already been in my body, I would've had 8 years remaining on the warranty which have still not been reached. My surgeon is charging $4500 to get my surgery done, I would be in a much better position to get this done if Mentor covered part of the expenses as I expected. I honestly hate to have to come to this, but I do not think it's fair to be cheated of my money and have implants from a company who has already been sued for other issues and just sit back and let it happen.

Mentor has a warranty that they will replace any implant for a lifetime if they deflate, etc. They also had a warranty at the time I purchased them that they would reimburse **** of surgical costs should you have to replace within 10 years. I had surgery initially end of November 2013 where I had mentor implants placed. End of October 2023 I woke up one morning and noticed one breast was completely flat. I could feel the empty implant and it was OBVIOUS in pictures and to my plastic surgeon who I saw early November that it was deflated. He was the surgeon who did my first surgery as well. He took pictures that showed the deflated breast which mentor has been sent. We promptly scheduled a surgery and after mentor received the implant back they are saying there was no valve issue or rupture so are denying my claim. The implant that was removed by my surgeon was empty when they opened me up which the surgeon and the assistant in the surgery can confirm. How else would an implant deflate unless it ruptured or had a valve failure, it is a failure of implant. It is physically impossible for me to deflate something that is inside my body. I am being cheated out of my free replacement implants and the $**** surgery reimbursement costs that their warranty promised. I will never buy or replace with mentor implants again if they don't honor their warranty.

I had Mentor implants placed 10 years ago due to having a double mastectomy. The implants were under warranty my implants had ruptured causing me to replace them, which should be covered under warranty. *** submitted all of my claims and they are only reimbursing me $1500, they arent including my ultrasounds I needed after or my antesthia bill. They will not return my calls or emails when k ask where my check is. My insurance has paid over $60k and the clinic is now threatening me with collections due to not getting my reimbursement from Mentor. My surgery was on Feb 22, 2023,

My mentor silicone breast implants were put in March 2015 after being assured that they were safe and I would not need to replace them. After a few years I started having serious mental and physical health issues that could not be identified on blood tests. Some symptoms included; chronic fatigue, weight gain, insomnia, skin rashes, hair growth issues, vision problems, debilitating anxiety, depression, inflammation, joint pain, and pain in the right side of my chest. I went to multiple doctors for answers but did not receive an answer for years until an MRI was ordered in March 2022 which revealed that my right implant had ruptured. I have no idea how long it was ruptured for and no physical trauma had occurred to cause this. My left implant was folding a lot in my chest and looked like it would also rupture over time from friction. I had a surgery to remove the implants on June 30th 2022 and am now suffering from serious detox symptoms from the illness that was caused from the silicone. I have been emotionally and physically traumatized for years and will continue to suffer throughout the healing process. I was told to send the implants back to mentor to review a claim but was told they could not guarantee me any sort of financial compensation. The surgery to put them in was $10,000 and it was $10,000 to remove them. My trauma is priceless over years of suffering is priceless.I will be keeping the implants. Complaint # PC-*********
