On January 4th 2024, I placed an order through collectors choice music's website for item number ************, "Air Born: The *********** Years 1973-1984 - 32-Disc Boxset includes 27 CD's & 5 Blu-Rays [Import] CD". The order number is 0040-9572-3864SA. The agreed upon price of the item is $203.98. The item was backordered. I was fine with waiting for however long it would take for the order to complete, and expressed no desire for cancellation.To this day, the item is still available to place a backorder for, as can be seen at ****************************************************************************************************************************************. They have never stopped taking backorders for this item.Yet, on February 18, 2024, they cancelled my order against my wishes, claiming they were unable to fulfill it.I find this difficult to believe, given that they are still accepting orders for the item. However - they have since raised the price of the item to $243.09, which is more than the price we agreed upon when we entered into an agreement on the transaction when I placed the order initially. I have expressed to them several times that given they are still accepting orders for this item, and I did not cancel the order, I wish for the order to be uncancelled. They have refused to uncancel the order. I think it is dishonest of them to force me to agree to a higher price in order to continue awaiting a backorder on this item.Business response

We apologize that the order was cancelled. Unfortunately on any backordered items if the item does not come into stock within 45 days from the order date the order is automatically cancelled. If the customer would like to replace the order at the original price he can call us to place a new order for the item via the phone at his convenience.Initial Complaint

Starting in July of 2023. Sent order for $100 plus worth of cds. Including several noted on email copies just sent you. Using Collectors Choice music, POB 691 Itascha, IL as biz address. Put in order in July. Middle of August did not hear anything. Saw ad where they issue records five day after order. Called them. They had NO RECORD OF ORDER. I reordered music and paid with credit card. Five days later receive cds. A week after that receive a second order of same cds. Told them and they gave me seal address for ********. I put cds in and mail to ********. They say that they never received them. I have email saying cds delivered. I want money. In November after loads of fake and outright lies they said they sent check for $72 dollars. Never received check. Claim they need over a month to ************* End of January, still no money. In addition to eight cds they actually sent, I sent Vintage Trouble MXG2567314X back to them. I kept 2 cd set Drive by Truckers the Complete *********************, MG2560269X, they never, in both orders sent *****************, Say Less, MG2557905X, $ *****. Plus tax and delivery charges. They never have a record of my purchases. I paid tax and delivery on all records. I had purchased over $300 worth of cds from them previously. After sending back at least eight cds, they said they never received them. It was their return address label I used! Then after sending proof from the delivery company they sent me faked letters and said they never received them. Then, they said they issued a check for 72 dollars that I never received. They never have a record of anything, how did they figure out it was $72? I noticed in their poor reviews they claimed they mailed a $12 check to a customer, which he never received. Then they said they would have to resend it. They could make hundreds of dollars from me just for working with me, instead they want w/hold from good customer.I want $125 and the ***************** cd Say Less, and it is over. Our records show that 2 refund checks were sent to you. We will have our accounting department look into the checks. If they have not been cashed we can reissue them.

I am rejecting the businesss response because this is ALWAYS what they say, but the checks are never delivered. If they resend the two checks immediately and the checks are cash able, I will drop this complaint against them. Unfortunately, I know what will happen , no checks will be delivered and if they are they will bounce. Also, I am requesting they send the ***************** cd, which I paid for and Ive never received.My name and address to ensure proper delivery is*************************************************************************, **** 44149They have this address so why were the checks never delivered or never cashed? They simply say something and never do it, and my six month work, and your one week work is forgotten.The desired resolution is to have the two checks deposited in my bank, and they both clear. I would like them to mail me *****************, Say Less, MG2557905X. I sent you extensive emails and communication with this company and their scurrilous antics. Please dont believe them that this has been rectified. They have never sent money or compensation and their claim of sending money is preactically an admission of their wrongdoing.*************************;***********************************Sent from my iPadBusiness response

We have reviewed the complaint and noticed that the address to which the checks were mailed to was incorrect. The address on the order form for the billing address was **************** and not 10812 MEADOW TRL which would explain why the customer never got the refund checks as all refund checks are mailed to the billing address and not the shipping address given. We will reissue new checks to the correct address of **************************************************************** These refund checks include the funds for the item ***************** item that was cancelled.Customer response

This amazes me. I still have yet to receive checks from Collectors Choice music, although now they admit they tried to s**** me. They have my correct address, so where are my checks? This ruse, we sent the checks, checks are in the mail, we sent to the wrong address is used every time to get BBB off their backs. This company has used this tactic (see your complaint mail) to s**** customers out of money. Turn them over to the Attorney General of their state as they continue to use this ruse.*Some consumers may elect to not publish the details of their complaints, some complaints may not meet BBB's standards for publication, or BBB may display a portion of complaints when a high volume is received for a particular business. ↩
