In 2018, i was contacted by sbs to consolidate and lower my student loans. They had me fill out tons of paperwork for getting my student loans switched over to them from nelnet. They said everything would be taken care of and to ignore any other communications i was getting from nelnet from then on out. They have been charging my account each month $29.99. I have come to find out that not only does mohela have my student loans now, not sbs, but my loans have not been paid on in years and i have accrued interest from lack of payment. I would like reimbursed/refunded the money i spent as well as money to cover the interest that has accrued over the years. This is predatory and cruel to do to someone in debt. I always warn my mom of scams and predatory things like this and now i feel stupid and embarrassed that i was in fact falling for a scam over the last 5 years.

In July 2018 I was told could consolidate my loans with the Select benefits services, they would help with preparation of all documents to sign up for repayment plans. They gave me the necessary paperwork to fill out and a release form for then Nelnet, most recently Aidvantage.com to release my loan information. Select benefit services has been taking $29.99* out of my account since 2018. I even recommended them to my husband AFTER A YEAR. They said they would take care of filing documentation and that I was certified for a repayment program. I find out from Federal Student Aid site,Aidvantage.com and nelnet that my loans have never been set for any repayment program. They are frauds! I DEMAND reimbursement for all the money lost. This is heinous and absolutely PREDATORY for people with more than $***,*** of student loan debt!

In 2019 my daughter was told she could consolidate my loans with the Select benefits services. They gave me the necessary paperwork to fill out and a release form for Nelnet to release my loan information. Select benefit services has been taking ***** out of my account since 2019. I find out from Nelnet it is fraud and my money has not been going towards my student loan. I would like reimbursement for all the money lost. THis is terrible to do this with a student in debt.

Select Benefit Services posed as a loan processing agency and "enrolled me in a program" that they claimed was a Federal Program approved by *****************************. They took $29.99 from my bank account every month since 2018, under the pretense that I was "working toward loan forgiveness" because I work in the health care industry. SBS is still operating, and requesting "recertification forms" including my income/employer information, and account info regarding my federal student loans. When I became aware of SBS's fraudulent nature, I issued a stop payment and closed the bank account that SBS had been withdrawing money from.
