    Based on Pacific Edge Hotel website gallery photos, I reserved a 2 bedroom suite for a 1-night getaway with my husband, sister and brother-in-law. Upon arrival to the suite, we noticed the room appeared dirty with only 1 bedroom equipped with ** and the other had a black mildew-laden box fan. We spoke with the Front Desk Manager *** who appeared annoyed with the request for an alternate room, rolled his eyes and stated "no where do we say the rooms have air conditioning and we are sold out." After a repeat request for assistance, Vyk provided each couple with a key to a 1 bedroom unit with ** (Room 24 & Room 204.) We immediately left the property for dinner and live music only to discover the unhealthful condition of the 2 units upon our return at 10pm. Both were the most disgustingly filthy hotel rooms we have ever witnessed. Immediately upon entry, the mold-mildew smell was overwhelming. There was visible black mold-mildew in the ** vents, around the toilet, the shower, doors, walls, carpet and the towels. The carpet was damp in several areas with what appeared to be black mold-mildew emerging from under the baseboards. Within the 10 minute mold-mildew exposure of trying to reach the front desk to inquire about alternate room options, my sister experienced wheezing and coughing due to asthma exacerbation and was unable to stay. My husband and I were forced to stay in the "least" health hazardous of the two rooms as we had no alternative lodging options that late at night. The front desk was unavailable, no Manager on-site, no resolution. When my sister and brother-in-law requested their vehicle at 10:15pm to leave the property, the valet attendant stated "lot's of people have left for the same reason as you. I don't know why the management doesn't fix this problem." I have spoken directly to ***, ***** and ***** to request to speak with General Manager and request refund. No return call! Will you please contact the property on my behalf?

    The straw that broke the camel's back was coming back to our room on New Year's Eve to find a cockroach running across the sheets of my bed. The hotel manager and staff were completely unaccommodating, unapologetic and dismissive about the cockroach, giving us no blankets nor comforters for our beds, no blow dryer, no heating, no beach furniture and a room, ********************** that was completely substandard and dilapidated, looking NOTHING like the photos on Groupon & more like something out of a really cheap MOTEL in the middle of nowhere, definitely not a 'hotel" in ************. The only saving ***** about this is that it is located on the beach in ************ and that's it. They wouldn't even pull out the beach furniture that's boasted about on Groupon! We had to do it ourselves. There was no valet to help us bring all of out luggage to our car, so we had to do it ourselves and were stuck pushing all that weight all the way out to the parking lot from our hotel room. Oh and one more fun fact, we got back to our room 1 minute late for check out AND THEY DEACTIVATED OUR KEY SO WE COULDN'T GET INTO OUR ROOM! The fact that they even called themselves a hotel is a complete and total joke not to mention false advertising. A proper hotel gives concierge level customer service, this is completely non-existent at this establishment. Maybe they'll wake up once I call the health department in ************ to report the ***** crawling across the sheets on my bed when we came back from our New Year's Eve celebration. The hotel manager, "****" told us that because we made our reservations through a "third party", ie Groupon, there was no special accommodation he could make for us for any of this mess! Thank you **** and staff, for making my best friend's birthday and our *** celebration extra special. **************** and concierge are not part of what you get at this poor excuse for a "hotel".
