So I contacted Renew about 3 months ago. Went through the process to get bariatric surgery. Went through intake process waited for them to tell the dr approved me to have surgery. I was told there was a $300 deposit to hold the date so I gave her my card to hold the date for November 23rd or 26th I cant remember. In the mean time. I found out that I can get my surgery covered through insurance and I would not have to travel out of the country for it. So I called and asked to cancel my surgery and get my deposit back. Well I was then told that the deposit was non refundable. I explained that she never said that to me nor had I received that in writing or had a signed any contract stating that. so then she started sending me all of these thing saying it wasnt refundable and I could use it for a future date. So I told her I would not need a further date as Im getting it done through insurance. I kind of let it go, then I thought to myself. None of this was told to me until after I had given them $300. And I still had not signed a consent form to do the surgery. I just want my money back. It would be different if I had been informed of this prior to giving a deposit, or if I have plans on doing the surgery at a different time, but Im not and I was not informed properlyInitial Complaint

My mother and older sister have undergone surgery with Renew Bariatrics. After hearing of about their journey I had made a decision to undergo surgery myself. This was a personal decision that I have decided to keep private from my family. After my surgery my younger sister phoned Renew Bariatrics to have a consultation herself. When the person on the phone asked her how she heard about the business she stated that her mother and sister (thinking about my older sister as she didnt know about my surgery) both had the procedure. To which the woman on the phone said, yes ***** Sobinska, surgery March 1st. Right in that moment my HIPPA rights were violated and my personal health information was released. I have brought this up to the attention of the company over a month ago to which they said they would investigate. Any request for an update go unanswered. In the meantime I have dealt with the stress of not only my information being released but also my privacy being violated. The situation has negatively affected my recovery as I have no trust in the team and do not feel like I can safely reach out to them without risking again that my personal health Information wont be released again,
