I bought a ****** printer and to get the printer to work I had to get this Global Assistance **************** It did not work so I had to get another ****** printer. I finally got it to work and Global Assistance said I had a bunch of bad files and they had to save my drives, etc and needed $419.60 and would be good for .6 year protection and support. The first one year I got ahold of another one of them and he said I only had one year! I know different I still have the receipt. Well I haven't been able to use my computer fully, since then. This is is 2 and a half years and now my computer is almost worthless for anything. I just bought ****** and trying the 7 day free trial. I need refunded$300.00 from ****** and Global Assistance.

January 28,2022: I was trying to hook up my new Canon printer and got transferred to Global Assistance when I received an error code. They told me I had malware and viruses on my computer and that it must be corrected immediately. I thought they were associated with Canon, so I did what they wanted me to do.They charged me $211.51 for their service, and the printer still does not work.I am going to return the printer to Amazon and complain to them about this SCAM. I have closed my credit card, and am disputing the charge. This company should be closed down, and Canon knows what is happening and should also be held accountable.

I was trying to hook up my new Canon printer and somehow got switched to their site. They told me I had a computer full of viruses and trojans and these had to be removed for me to hook up the printer. I am a senior and not very computer-savvy so I thought these were legitimate since they seemed to be connected to Canon. They charged me $157.99 to supposedly remove these infections, install antiviral software, and hook up my printer. Afterwards I spoke to my son, who is a software engineer for **** who indicated that I have Norton Ultra installed and therefore would never have had any such infections, and that the software was just a duplication of what I already had. They also failed to hook up the printer. I feel this is fraud, and have disputed the charge with Mastercard. I contacted Canon, who apologized, but will not take it further.

On September 12, 2021, I received a message on my laptop as I was setting up a new Canon printer that a "Fatal Error" had occurred. I contacted the number that was given (big mistake I now know). The person who answered identified himself as ***********************. He said that he could help me with my problem. He told me that I had been"hacked" and that my Norton 360 antivirus did not protect against hacking. After he had "taken care of the problem,"I was told that the service charge was $99.99. When I received the invoice, the charge was $229.98 which included 3 years Net Work and IP Security. When I questioned the charges, I was told my computer would be open to continued hacking if I did not buy the coverage. Unfortunately, I fell for the scam.

Good afternoon, *********************************** from Global Assistance!
Let me start my saying sorry for the confusion and frustration this has caused.
Here are our inputs and revert on your concerns:
      1. We have received your query on September,12th ***** regarding your technical issue. As per the telephonic conversation you had with one of our technicians, you were seeking our help to rectify the error and looking forward to get it resolved.
      2. *************************** (One of our technicians) successfully identified the error and informed you the ways to get it resolved. Wherein, you agreed to take his help and purchase the software along with the services associated with the software.
      3. During the whole conversation we (Global Assistance) did not force you to pay any money.
      4. Moreover, our refund policy clearly says that if you will not be satisfied with the services, you can ask for a full refund within 30 days . Therefore, we are bit disappointed with the fact that you did not contact us back for a refund instead you wrote the entire incident to the better business bureau.
      5. This is very unfortunate that you misunderstood the entire transaction and took this action to the fraud and investigation department which has put our companys image and reputation on question.
      6. If we had an intention of scamming you, we would have not shared our toll-free number with you. Moreover, we would have never called you to take your feedback after 24 hours .
      7. You never asked for refund nor approached any of our technicians.
      8.  Keeping the current situation in mind, we are processing the full refund of $229.98 which would reflect into your account in next 5-7 business days Moreover, we insist you to kindly take your complaint back from the complaint platform and delete these false allegations as soon as possible.

I typed in the canon printer setup address and I now know that it led me to a fake page, a scam. The company is Global Assistance LLC out of ************, **********. They made me believe that I had to pay for their service to get rid of computer infections that were causing me not to be able to connect to my printer. I paid them for that and for 3 years of protection that I dont need and is probably fake anyway. I paid them $362.16. I have called them and asked for a refund and they will not refund my money. They also have my debit card info and the amount of $109 came out for ********* everde. My husband nor I made this purchase. I believe ****** at Global Assistance did. My customer ID for ********************** is #*****. Their phone numbers are ************** and **************. I knew in my gut that they were shady and now I know they are! I would like a full refund from these creeps!
