  On June 28, 2022, I Contacted this auto shop in regards to having the starter on my 2002 Lexus ES 300 Replaced Because it had gone out june 26th,2022. I originally thought it was my battery so I contacted Triple AAA And when the battery technician came out he told me that it was not my battery it was my starter. So that same day June 28th I contacted AB auto repair & tire shop I spoke with a gentleman by the name of *** And explain to him that my starter had gone out and if they could replace it how much He told me $367.72 I thought it was a little pricey But I did not mind because I have 2 small kids And it's hot! so I needed my car fixed asap. *** told me that I can have my car in that day but they would not be able to work on it until the next day So I had my car towed To the repair shop Before 5 o'clock their closing time. The next morning I spoke with *** and he informed me That my starter was bad and they would replace it. Next call i got was my car started right up but there was a knocking sound coming from my engine,I've had my car almost a year now and I've NEVER Heard any knocking,my car has never overheated or have I had any MAJOR problems with it AT ALL,so I couldn't understand where this knocking sound could have came from, Later that day, I went to the shop to go see what was going on with my car and to listen to this sound they told me it had upon arriving A mechanic came out with a jumper headed to my car So I was even more confused because I was told earlier that my car started right up And if the main purpose of my car not starting in the 1st place was the starter and they replaced it I did not understand why he needed the jumper. So he hooks up the jumper Turns my car on and instantly there is indeed a loud knocking sound I have NEVER EVER heard that sound in my car before,Then he tells me my car is not drivable I was so distraught And in disbelief Because just 2 days prior to my starter going out my car was very drivable with no sound

  To whom it may concern,

                  On June 28, 2022 ******** ****, called our shop (AB Auto Repair and Tire Shop Inc) stating that she needed a starter replacement for her 2002 Lexus ES300. She stated that her vehicle was not starting. We gave her a quote over the phone and agreed for the service. She then had the vehicle towed because it did not turn on. Tow truck dropped off the vehicle before we close at 5pm. The following morning, we began to check out the vehicle for the no start issue. The vehicle had a no start/no crack symptom, after inspection we noted that vehicle starter in fact was not working properly and needed replacement. We proceeded to replace the starter and after replacement vehicle started right away. Upon the initial start up the vehicle began to make a loud noise. We turned it off and proceeded to call Ms, **** to let her know that the vehicle was making a loud noise. Please note that when the vehicle was dropped off it was completely dead. Battey was not working, and vehicle did not turn on. We had to push the vehicle into our bay to work on it because it was not turning on. We have no prior knowledge of any vehicle noises because vehicle had a no crack/no start problem. We are not responsible for any damages that the vehicle has since the starter is an external component that sits next to the transmission and not the engine. The noise we heard for Ms. ****’s car is coming from the engine.
