We had 3 related Dachshunds all go to AV. THEY WERE OUR CHILDREN! Kaycee is 17. She was suffering from illness & old age. Mostly blind, mostly deaf, weak, senile, confused, unbalanced & couldn't control bodily functions. Her declining state would be selfish, We brought her to AV were we brought her ************* when they were passing. We called ahead. It's 15 minutes away. They told us the time. We explained ****** is terrified of ************ We wanted this as peaceful as possible. They gave us the room where we've said goodbye twice before. Kaycee was frantic. We were trying to calm her. Hugging, loving & holding her. She started dementia circles in the room. It calms her. I came out of the room many times. Please she suffering! We are busy. It will be soon. She came in saw her pacing with fear & agreed. CAN WE HURRY PLEASE SHE'S SUFFERING! Someone would be in to put the catheter. I could now here her crying so hard from the other room. The staff brought her back. she was terrified trying to jump from my husband's arms. Kaycee can't jump she can barely walk. This was pure adrenaline. Waiting for the vet. I come out of the room, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP HER AT LEAST GIVE HER A SEDITIVE TO CALM HER...PLEASE!! ??they said, we're busy. I come out again I'm crying. Please help her. I thought I need to find a better way. Maybe remove the catheter, get a prescription where she could be calmer & we could bring her the following day. They are negligent. The vet finally came in & our little girl went to sleep. They gave us time with her, but after a long period we couldn't keep holding her lifeless body. I went back out & said, can someone please come get her? This was not kind, professional or humane. We can't stop crying! The visual will not go away. AV let her down. Her torment was their fault. They need to understand goodbye is forver! Honestly through all this it is cruel that they would make us pay over $600. LEARN HOW SCHEDULE. YOUR CLIENTS AND OWNERS ARE SUFFERING!
