I contacted this nail technician on May 16 for services on behalf of my sister who wanted her nails done before her graduation and birthday which was on May 31 2024.The nail technician responded the next day with availability on 27th of May for 11 am. This appointment worked for my sister. The technician asked for a $20 deposit which was sent to her via Apple Cash and she sent confirmation that she received it. The deposit is nonrefundable unless she cancels the appointment according to her policy. The technician was recommended by a friend because they went to school together, so I trusted the recommendation. On the 26th of May, I reached out to her via Instagram and text message to confirm the appointment because she had not reached out for details regarding the appointment. The day of the appointment, May 27th at 10:23 am, she responded saying she had to cancel because she had pink eye. I asked her if she could do any day before the 31st due to that being my sister's event. She did not respond at all on Instagram or text message. I contacted her again on the May 29 & 30th and again, no response. She was posting content on her social media page and leaving my messages on "read/seen". On the 31st of May, I contacted her if we could get the $20 back since the technician cancelled and failed to reschedule the appointment. No response. She was contacted again on June 4 & 12. On the 12th, she said that the messages got lost but that she would return the $20. She did not do so. Since then she has been continuing to ignore any messages sent to her on Instagram and text messages. On June 9th, she blocked my number and has not returned my deposit despite taking more appointments and positing pictures for her social media. Someone has told me that she has also taken her money, cancelled the appointment, refused to communicate. I am not sure if she is even licensed, but it does state she has an LLC and works out of a location that is not her home.
