A waste of your time, money, and energy. Would never recommend. Misrepresents services: Kate will make promises about the training to get your money, and then never actually address your concerns. My dogs needed help with resource guarding and socialization. I went with Kate's services after she assured me she could address these issues. After I paid her in full and completed 6 of 8 sessions without these behavior issues being addressed, despite me reminding her throughout the sessions, I made a bigger deal out of the fact I wasn't getting the service she sold me. She then blew me off for over a month before finally telling me she basically couldn't help with those issues. Unprofessional: Kate was at least 30 minutes late to two sessions, without giving me any kind of notice. I had to leave once after waiting over 30 minutes for her. I also dealt with her being unresponsive and not scheduling my last couple sessions for over a month before she told me she needed a break and it would be even more time (no estimate, she just said she would let me know when she was ready). Poor quality training: Sessions are not the advertised length and are mostly Kate talking about unrelated matters, not actually working with the dogs. Even when she was working with the dogs, I learned more watching YouTube training videos than I did from her. I watched her make mistakes/not fully train commands (i.e not progressing past hand signals). I've taken another basic command course that was way more informative and helpful. One sided contract: Beware of the one sided contract she has you sign that doesn't hold her accountable for anything.

Let me first start off by saying I have been training for 15 years and in all the years I've been a trainer I have never had someone go this far out of her way to try and slander my name and my business. With that being said let me touch on the points in this post:

I am not now or have I ever been money hungry (aka will say anything to get your money). You reached out for help, I said I could and I did. You have not completed this class therefore can't claim I never helped you. I did explain resource guarding on a couple different occasions and how you could counteract your dogs behavior. Also, week 7 is socialization - you have to be present for that session in order to go through it and fully understand what socialization is when it comes to your dog.

For the record, I also did not blow you off and I never said I couldn't help you. I have always gone above and beyond to help each of my clients with their dogs to the best of my ability.

In the contract that you signed it states I may be late to sessions due to a variety of different reasons. The one time you are claiming you waited and I didn't show up, you did not confirm when I sent the confirmation text. No confirmation on your side means I don't show up.

In the beginning, I explained how much time you would get with each session. However I also explained that you may not need all of that time for both dogs and it would depend on the dogs and how quickly they picked up each command. I worked with you and both of your dogs each time I came to your house, I have videos to prove it.

I also never claimed we would get past hand signals - this is the way I have always trained since day one (verbal commands with hand signals). I train using Positive Reinforcement and a reward system with the help of training clickers, verbal commands and hand signals.

As far as my contract is concerned, if you had any issues/concerns/questions, you should have asked before you completely signed everything. The contract is in place to protect me and my business. On the other hand in the contract it states there are no guarantees that the dogs in training will be perfect. I do assign you homework which is your responsibility to reinforce what we covered in our previous sessions and my recommendations.

I have offered several options for you and your dogs to complete this class however you refused and chose to take me to court instead. I understand you are an attorney, but I will not be bullied in or out of court.
