Our experience with ***** Nielson of Nielson Fine Floors was stressful and unprofessional, leading to an unethical severing of the relationship. Red flags were many before installation (no written contract, uncompromising attitude, blaming QuickBooks for overpurchased materials, no follow up protecting our home interior) and blatant oversites (not disclosing lack of ********* ********************** coverage, ignoring manufacturer's acclimation instructions, no foundation moisture test) and more. My request for customer referrals was sandbagged, citing never been asked to see a previous flooring installation. Things steadily worsened. When grinding the foundation, concrete dust was blown all over the house - a serious health hazard (***************************************************************************). The installation crew had no knowledge of installation technical issues for our flooring. Installation started with the desired "random end assortment", switching to - with no rhyme or reason - "stair step end pattern" and "H-pattern", creating a mishmash of end patterns, thereby claiming industry standard but not a desirable appearance. When issues were reported, Nielson claimed no responsibility for workmanship, became an unwilling participant, unable to compromise, citing our dissatisfaction was just aesthetics. Aren't the results of a custom flooring installation aesthetically pleasing? Nielson would not compromise, did not observe technical issues for himself, nor have an ounce of empathy. Nielson abandoned our installation without compromise. Nielson's unwillingness to stand behind his verbal and website claims are good enough reasons to beware. Only when it goes The Nielson Way does his compromising attitude prevail. Customer dissatisfaction gives ********************** reason to cry "can't meet your expectations", then abandon the job and write it off, leaving the customer stranded. Clearly a lack of customer support and unethical business practices.
