To whom it may concern,I write this letter in disgust about how I was treated at Lodi Toyota CA. Im fighting cancer and am looking for a bigger truck than the Tacoma for our camper so we can spend time camping this summer. Im trying to take advantage of every day I have left.I have owned Toyotas for decades and decided on the Tundra over the F150. We contacted Lodi Toyota to talk about the double cab Tundra they had just posted online. They still had the vehicle so I put a $500 deposit down on it due to a family reunion preventing me from driving three and a half hours one way to the dealership. ******, the salesman I spoke with at Lodi Toyota said they would hold the truck for me if I put a deposit on it, which I did. We drove down a day early and stayed in a hotel so that we could be there when they opened. A few minutes after 9 we walked in and met ****** the salesman. The first thing he did was start lying to us. He told us the car was not owned by one owner as they had posted online, but was owned by three previous owners. He flashed the carfax sheets to us so quickly we couldnt read them. Then he made the statement that they were all in one family which was another lie. After arriving home, I looked at the carfax sheets and no one could make the assumption that the car was sold in the family. This was just a lie. And the lies didnt stop.We went out and looked at the car which had some fender damage which wasnt disclosed in the pictures of the vehicle prior to me putting a deposit on the truck. The salesman then sent us to the finance officer. As we spoke he wrote up the contract. In the document we saw that we were being charged for a warranty on paint and upholstery. The finance officer told us it was a new warranty we had to buy. We told him we didnt want a 1500 dollar warranty on something we would never use. He threatened to close the deal if we didnt sign. Finally, after arguing and stating he was lying to us, we signed.
