So I ordered a book over 4 weeks ago and my credit card was immediately charged on August 8. On August 25th I sent an email to ********************************** (as they recommend) to inquire about the delay, and request that the order be cancelled and I be refunded. I was completely ignored. So after another few days I file a dispute with my credit card. Who wouldnt? At that point it had been over 3 weeks after order placed, no item received, no response from the merchant, etc.So today, going into week number five since I paid for the book (which still hasnt arrived BTW), I finally get an angry email from ***. (By the way, if youd like to review other customers dealings with this guy, just ****** his name and the stores name. He has quite a history). Anyway, this morning this clown proceeds to call me a liar, brag that I will lose my merchant dispute and crow that he disabled my account. I definitely have no use for ***** or ever want to hear from him again. But I figured whoever the owner / manager is, they need to know what kind of person they have dealing with the public. And our entire email thread is available to anyone who requests it.Initial Complaint

I purchased a fairly expensive book from this business. Their website very clearly states that all books they sell are brand new and unopened unless stated otherwise. *** purchased three books from them before this and never had a problem. But this book that cost nearly $200, arrived and was very obviously a pre owned and damaged book. From deep scratches to the cover, corners being worn to the point of discoloration, dot sized stains to the top of the pages, and what looks to be moisture stains to the covers, this book is definitely not new. The listing did not say anything about the book being in any condition other than new. *** at the business gave me two differentials stories about the book after I provided proof that the book was delivered in this shape. Not only did he even offer to help with any part of the issue, he went on to say that first he purchased the book brand new and listed it on the website himself in new condition. Then after seeing my pictures, changed his story to say that the condition shown in my pictures is the condition he bought it in and changed his story about the book being shrink wrapped. Upon asking for a full refund and working this out amicably, he says that he doesnt consider the book to be damaged. No honest retailer would consider this book to be in new condition. Ive taken it to multiple local book stores and they ALL say that theyd NEVER sell this book as new if it were in their shops. *** at Cheap Graphic Novels refuses to help me in any way and is obviously okay with scamming customers out of hard earned money. I want a refund for this book. I purchased a new book. Had their been any details that pointed toward this book being used, I never would have purchased it. Especially when they claim they only sell books ordered directly from distributors. Not books that employees buy used at conventions and list as new.Initial Complaint

Hi, I pre-ordered a book called Marvel Masterworks DM VAR ** 339 from this website last year. It was published in March and shipped to me. When I opened it, I saw that the back dust jacket had a dent in it that looked like someone pressed into the book with something the size of a pen. The impression was strong enough that it also dented the actual hardcover underneath the dust jacket. I wrote Cheap Graphic Novels and spoke with the owner ***. I mentioned the back of the book was damaged. He asked for pictures. I sent some of the back dust jacket that shows the dent. He tried saying it was a natural variation caused by the printer to have this marking in it. That's when I pointed out that it wasn't the printer of the dust jacket, and that the hardcover underneath the dust jacket was also damaged. Then he asked for more pictures of the book in its dust jacket before it was opened. I actually had those too, and sent them. Then he still tried saying that its normal for this to happen during the printing process. Unfortunately for ***, I worked in book publishing for 15 years and I know that the dustjacket is printed separate than the actual hard cover of the book since they require different machines to print images on dust jacket paper and cut cardboard for hardcovers. I actually used to work with this same printer who confirmed that this isn't normal. I'd like my money back or a replacement. (and he can have the original book if he pays for its return shipping.. but that shouldn't be my expense.. ) I think that's very fair. *** stopped returning my emails after I mentioned I worked in publishing and I would get them to confirm that they didn't print the book in this. Can someone from the BBB help?
