On Saturday October 29th, 2022 at approximately 10:40am, I, ***************************, visited LA Pilates - ********** to give my written notice of agreement cancellation to the receptionist, ****** also known as Art. I am unable to remain at the living space I resided in, in ********** because it is an unsafe. So I had to cancel my membership to relocate to *******. The Membership Agreement policy stated to deliver a written notice. I was able to hand-in the written notice to ****** during the weekend before my departure. *** stated that he was able to successfully cancel my unlimited classes membership but he was unable to provide a refund as he never has given a refund before. He stated, "We don't do refunds but if you give me some time and patience than I will reach out to you to see if I can give you a prorated refund". He also asked that I provide my proof of mailing and/or a bill from the place I am moving to, but because it is not written in your cancellation policy, I am hesitant to follow this request. Although I do not mind providing proof, if it is required. It has been a week since I delivered this written notice but no one from LA Pilates has reached back out to provide a rational for not applying the moving refund. According to my membership agreement received on Saturday, August 20th, 2022, the cancelation policy for moving is item b: You move: If you move more than 25 miles from your original club of enrollment, and LA Pilates ********** is unable to transfer your membership to a comparable facility within 25 miles of your new residence, then you may cancel this agreement without penalty & receive a pro rata refund, where applicable, for any prepaid sums. I have also been charged an additional $10.00 no show fee even though I have not registered for any classes. And this is after receiving the confirmation email of agreement cancellation. I have tried to reach out to LA Pilates about this charge but they remain unresponsive.
