I received an annual screening mammogram and ultrasound due to dense breasts and increased baseline risk of breast cancer, on 6/19/23. I have Blue Anthem HMO and I had received notification that this claim was paid in full. On 2/14/24, I received a bill for $1,014 from this company. Upon contacting them to remedy the bill, they were unwilling to provide me with any documentation or information related to correspondence with my HMO for payment. They have also been unwilling to connect me to anyone to give me updates on the status of this claim, and have not provided me with any updates in nearly two months.Business response

Good morning,
Please be advised that Breast Imaging Radiologists changed billing vendors effective 8/1/2023. I am responding as her new billing vendor client services manager effective for dates of services 8/1/23 and later. Breast Imaging Radiologist utilized another outside vendor for collections of remaining outstanding debt for dates of services prior to 8/1/2023. This third party vendor received files from her previous billing vendor, Change Healthcare, with the list of patients with outstanding balances.
The vendor mailed letters to patients based on the reports provided by Change Healthcare. After receiving numerous patient complaints, it was determined the information provided by the prior billing company was inaccurate. All collection efforts were ceased and patients were sent a retraction letter on 4/5 advising them of this error and that their no longer owed a balance. We no longer show a balance for this patient on file and the patient may ignore all prior correspondence on the attempt to collect.
