Touro university is advertising their masters programs as fully Coamfte accredited however they are in the process of losing their accreditation. Former students have posted that they sent an email stating they cannot guarantee the program will still be accredited and there is nothing they can do. Coamfte states they are currently in the process of suspending their accredation. No where is this mentioned on their website for admissions. They are using the false promise of attending an accredited program, scamming students out of admissions fees, enrolling them on the false promises of having a degree from an accredited program and not giving any warning of losing their accredation. I was not made aware at any point of the enroll process and once students posted about their experience the director of admissions confirmed they may not be getting their accreditation removed. I requested a refund of application fees on the grounds of deceptive advertising and not being properly accredited as stated and the director of admissions refused after admitting they are scamming and ignored further correspondence. They have been reported to federal and state authorities and accreditation board for deceptive practices

      Dear Elexis,

As a nonprofit academic institution, TUW remains COAMFTE accredited and proudly displays this programmatic recognition on our website and in other areas for university purposes. The admissions department correctly advised you:TUW is fully COAMFTE accredited during the show cause process. Our university is working diligently to address the Commissions requests.

TUW university leadership thoroughly reviewed all documented correspondence between you and TUW admissions staff, and found that admission did not advised any of the following information that you allege in your BBB complaint.

Nevertheless, as a one-time courtesy, TUW will refund your $25 application fee. It will take about three business days to process, and you will receive confirmation from the ***************** confirming the refund.

We wish you the best in your academic endeavors.

I have a medical issue that has resulted in me needing to not pursue school at this time. I never did any classes here. Due to my medical issue I wasn't able to figure out how to drop classes, and by the time I was able to email my advisor and get help to cancel, it was DAY 2 of week 1. They are saying I owe 750. Ive been given the run around from every place I speak to. No one will help me. I have medical issues so intense I can't attend school yet they're saying I owe 750. I NEVER EVEN BEGAN MY CLASSES. IT WAS DAY 2. My enrollment person has been completely ignorant and rude to me about this. And seems to take joy in making this issue harder for me. Disgusting and discriminatory behavior. All I get is the run around from every one- bursar, administration, enrollment, advisor- SCAM behavior. I'm beyond disgusted by this situation and will vehemently bad mouth this university any chance I get. I will be fighting this in court if needed. I will blast this situation all over the internet. No one can give me guidance on how to submit documentation to request exemption from the rule. I WAS TOO SICK TO DROP MY COURSES IN TIME (LITERALLY UNRESPONSIVE AND BEDRIDDEN), I DROPPED THEM BY DAY 2 AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 750.

      Dear ******,
Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention.
After discussing this case over the phone, we resolved this case by agreeing that you provide supportive documents (which you already provided), and TUW waived the course dropping fee.
Please feel free to contact me if there are any concerns.
      Thank you

I inquired of Touro University Worldwide (TUW) about their Master of Family Therapy program in Nov. 2021. Between my initial inquiry and Jan. 01, 2022, I spoke with ******************************** Director of Enrollment Counseling, by phone and email. I said that I was unsure if I could pay back a loan on the tuition, and asked how much payments on the loan would be. I never got an answer to that question -- first I had to fill out a FAFSA application, and then there was always another step. I was told that I had to enroll as a student in classes to talk with Financial Aid, so in good faith, I enrolled in the first term's 2 classes by 01/04/22. Then I was told to sign the Master Promissory Note, and I refused to do that on 01/05/22 since that was a promise that I would pay the full tuition, and I didn't yet know if I could afford the loan payments. The *************** reply to that was "Completion of the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling are not confirmation that you will be borrowing or accepting loans." It still seemed to me that signing it locked me into paying, loan or not, and I still had not gotten an answer to my question about how much the loan payments would be. (I had asked this over and over between 01/01 and 01/06/22.) On 01/06 I decided to opt out of Touro by dropping the 2 classes, since I had bad feelings about their process and probably couldn't afford it anyway. Then I was billed $750.00 as the penalty for dropping classes in the first week (25% of the first term's tuition of $3000). I replied that I refused to pay it because I had followed directions only on condition that I could pay the loan payments. Only then did *** say that "prospective applicants must review their FAFSA aid independently -- and direct their inquiries to the U.S. ***** of *********** It would have been simple for them to tell me this at the beginning when I asked my questions, but they did not. I've been billed for the $750 five times and am now in Collections.

      Dear ****,

I checked your record, and your request to waive the $750 balance was approved on 12/28/2022 and was processed in your account on 12/29/2022. The collections manager has been informed to stop any collection processes because TUW agreed to write off the balance.

I believe that this issue is resolved.

If you have any questions please contact us.

Thank you, and Happy New Year.

This university has reported on my credit report stating that I owe them $900.00 for a course I never took with them. I have informed them that this is fraudulent and I will not pay for services I did not access. I never even logged in with them. I would like my information removed from the system and for them to remove all derogatory marks from my credit report.

      Dear *******,

In a review of your account. You enrolled during SPRING 2019 1 in two courses at TUW. You participated in both courses as shown below:

      MFT610           01/03/2019 and 01/06/2019
      MFT611           01/03/2019 and 01/05/2019

Then, you dropped both classes on 01/12/2019 (week 2 of the session, 50% tuition charge, according to our drop policy).

You are liable to pay for the courses you participated in according to our policies.

TUW pursued collecting the fees, which included numerous email and phone communications.

At this point, we moved your balance to a collection agency.

However, I invite you to contact our Bursar at ************** to work on a resolution.

      Thank you
