Be aware of what you sign and get copies before leaving. I rented a car from the ******************* with FOX upon the receiving the car I was asked for the rental insurance coverage which I declined, as I already had purchased online why in the world would I need a 3rd once since I already am covered by the one I purchased online and my general coverage. I was also asked for fuel upon return of vehicle which I agreed. I was asked to look at the car for any damages and sign off on it, I never received a copy of agreement which I should have asked for and realized than that they added the coverage I did not agree too. As I was looking through my credit card I noticed a charge from FOX rental I immediately called and was told that I would get a call back with the response as Fox rentals would have to contact the supervisor at the *******************. It has been over 1 week so I decided to call back and was told "you will not be receiving a refund as you signed the contract and cannot refund money as per the supervisor from the *******************". the person started to raise her voice at me after several attempts to speak with a supervisor and her telling me there was no supervisor she finally got one? As I was speaking to the supervisor she jumped to telling me there is no way I would get a refund. I tried to explain to her what happened and all she kept telling me is that she could send me the paperwork where I signed and consented to the insurance which I assured her I did not agree her response was the same and I was told I would get an email with my signature which I did not get. I asked for their names and names of the persons that where at the renal place they declined to give me the information., so I hung up on them since I was not getting anywhere with them after 30 mins on the phone and wasting my time.Review from Jennie H

Reserved a car via 3rd party, when arrived to pick up the car, was told that we had to pay additional $800 for 'mandatory' insurance. Explained that our personal insurance covered rental car expenses in full and had documentation to prove it, was told as a 'courtesy' he would cut us a deal and knocked it down to $364.84 plus a $200 deposit! Again, we stated we had insurance, was told that we 'had' to purchase one of their three plans or forfeit our rental and lose the $400+ we had already paid for the car. When calling their billing department after, was told by 3 different people it is not mandatory and told to contact credit card company to dispute charges. They are a scam, having you sign a little black box/screen and not actually seeing or knowing what you are getting until the charges appear on a credit card and then they don't want to talk to you, I believe they are getting paid by the number of insurance policies they can scam people out of, very rude counter people and threatening to take their insurance or walk away. Not got business practices, would not advise using until they improve upon their business practices and stop scamming people!Fox Rent A Car Response

I am very sorry that there was some confusion on the rental charges, anything charged must be signed for not only electronically but also on a summary of charges that is presented to you at pick up. This is the worst car rental company I have used. Never again - and I would never recommend them to a friend or associate. Expect long lines, long wait to get car (it took me 1 hr 30 minutes to get through the line). When returning the car I was told of unexpected additional charges of over $200 (including fuel and detailing costs).Fox Rent A Car Response

I prepaid $313 for a 3 1/2 day car rental. When I picked up the rental, I asked why I was seeing over $600 in additional charges. I was told that they were just deposit fees. Only $125 of that was a deposit. The charge to my credit card just cleared for $475. I was charged almost $800 for a 3 1/2 day car rental. That is absurd.Fox Rent A Car Response

Terrible! They gave away my reservation, did a bait and switch, promised it would affect me much and now I am trying to figure out the $500 charge on my car! Then the car they gave me started having transmission issues and it took over 7 hours to get a replacement to me, which they said it they didn't have the same issues they would charge me for the towing! Lots of fast-talking, hidden fee, shady customer service practices here! All the negative reviews are accurate!Do NOT use!!!Fox Rent A Car Response

DO NOT RENT FROM FOX!!!! I have had 2 absolutely horrible experiences. Today 6/28/24, I get there (***********) with a reservation and the manager "*******" would not rent me a car saying you could only drive around the state of ******* and not out of state. I reserved through Priceline. He said sorry....that is not clearly listed you can only drive in this state. I said well you rented to me last year, and I drove to **. He said that is a training issue, we are a local company only. I am out $450, and literally strands me at the airport just now. The other experience last year was waiting 2 hours because they did not have cars available, and yes I had a reservation both times. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE.Fox Rent A Car Response

Don't use Fox Rent A Car. I returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas, and my receipt shows fuel charge of $17.80. I called them and said I miss one key of gas. It's a total rip-off.Fox Rent A Car Response

The rental agent for Fox Rent A Car at ********************************* lied to me. ***** (the rental agent) told me that the booking company I used only paid Fox Rent A Car enough to hold my reservation, and the additional amount I was paying was for renting the car. I told ***** at least three times that I did not need any insurance through their company. ***** told me that I was not paying for additional insurance. I did not look at my receipt until I got home from my trip as I called my credit card company while picking up the car to report to them the dispute in billing at that time.Come to find out, I was charged for the additional insurance.I will never use Fox Rent A Car ever again.I would rate them at 0 stars if that was an optionFox Rent A Car Response
