I ordered a kitten from Mountain Top Ragdoll Kittens. The promised to send it on a plane from California to Virginia. I paid $****. Then I got a note from the shippers saying I needed an upgraded cart for the kitten. I thought that the shippers were scammers and I filed a complaint about them on Friday 1/14. However, I now know that the breeder and shipper are working together. I paid another $880 to the shipper and then when they asked for another $775 to get the kitten out of quarantine in the airport....I figured I was screwed. I refused to pay any more money and suddenly the breeder and shipper phone numbers were "out of service". I don't image I'll get any money back but I felt this was a really cruel scam. I found out since that other people have also been scammed by this "company" and I'm wondering why they haven't been stopped. I'm filing a complaint because I don't want this heartbreak to happen to anyone else! Please read the attached documents because you can really get a feel of their depravitiy.Initial Complaint

I looked at the website *****************************. I found a kitten that I wanted to purchase. I contacted contacted the company via the email address on the website. After several emails back and forth about the details, I signed a contract that was sent to me. I paid $***** via Venmo. I was told the cat would be shipped from LA to my home the next day. I received an email that night requesting an additional $800 for a shipping crate (that was supposed to be included in the price). I was told the kitten was not put on the plane because they wanted more money. After several more emails to them, there was no further responses. As I looked into the email of the shipping company, I called the number on their website and the number never even rang. It was a fake site. So I believe this is all a scam. I did not receive my kitten and they got $***** fro me.Initial Complaint

Paid $**** via Zelle on 12/3 to adopt 2 Maine Coon Kittens, Bella and Heron. After paying money via zelle, we noticed the kittens were not removed from their website. Sunday night at 10pm I get an email stating from a Pet Transport company that we owe a Pet Travel Transport Refundable Insurance Premium, in the sum of $**** to proceed with shipping the animals. This was not mentioned in contract signed on 12/3/2021. I exchanged emails back and forth Sunday night with Summit Main Coon Kittens representative. In the end, I told them I would not be sending anymore money and that was not part of the contract terms. I told them I want a refund on my kitten adoption fees for the sum of $**** via Zelle. She stated she would not get the kittens back until Thursday, 12/9 and she stated, "Yeah I can't be too sure about that because we have to pay overnight fees for the kittens spending the night overnight not to mention money spent on paperwork and what was already paid to the courier we can't recover that. That's why I think the best option is move on with the delivery. "
