I went to *************** who informed me that I needed eyelid surgery since my eyelids were covering my pupils making it impossible to correct my vision to 20/20. I was informed that the surgery was to take place in a facility run by Tower Outpatient Surgery Center. I was told that the procedure would last approximately 2 hours and that the full cost of the surgery had to be paid to both *************** and Tower Outpatient Surgery Center in advance or the surgery would not be performed. I was also told that my insurance would not cover the procedure since neither **************** nor Tower Outpatient Surgery Center accept HMO insurance only a PPO. On November 7th, 2022 I paid both *************** and Tower Outpatient Surgery Center the full amount of money to cover the cost of my surgery. Tower Outpatient Surgery Center on the day of my surgery again informed me that the full cost of the surgery had to be paid in full prior to my surgery since I was paying cash. The amount Tower Outpatient Surgery Center quoted me for was $3,275. Prior to paying this amount I asked the employee working for Tower Outpatient Surgery Center is $3,275 the full amount that I owe for the surgery. She affirmed that $3,275 was the full amount. My surgery proceeded after I had paid the full amount that I was asked for. My surgery took longer than 2 hours. On 1/25/2023 I received a phone call from a woman named ***** from Tower Outpatient Surgery Center who informed me that I owed an additional $4,750. I told her that I had paid the full amount prior to my surgery and that I didn't owe any additional money. She then claimed that because the surgery took longer than 2 hours that I had to pay for the additional time. On 2/2/2023 I received a letter from Tower Outpatient Surgery Center claiming that I owed that same amount of money. Upon further investigation I found that this wasn't the first time Tower Outpatient Surgery Center has done this to their former patients.Business response
