*************** agreed to transform my garage to an ADU on **************** to be completed by January of 2021 for ******** It is now ******** **** and all he's done is put up the frame. He goes weeks without answering my calls or text messages. When he finally does he says he'll have his workers come the next day to do the work but never shows up. He has "STOLEN ". ****** from me so far. I have lost 11 months of rental income because I have had a tenant ready to move in since ******** ***** I have had to hire a different contractor to do the work. The new contractor has to fix all the mistakes and unnecessary work of the framework. I advice everyone to stay away from ********!!!!!!!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2022/01/28) */ It is unfortunate that *********** feels I have stolen from her or that I have in any shape or form taken of advantage of her. *********** and were romantically involved, on and off for several years and we developed what I thought a trusting friendship. I'm a drafting company and she entrusted me with the responsibility of drafting plans for her ADU, which I happily obliged. I explained the process and gave her potential time frames that the construction could take to illustrate the process and gave her a very rough estimate based on local comps and what the wood prices were back in 2020. I completed the plans, which were approved, and I recommended that she hire a licensed general contractor and establish a contract to safeguard her interest. She indicated that she did not want to spend too much money and would rather me refer some people that could do the work. The $**** she claims I have stolen were used to pay for drafting services and materials used that these individuals used. She asked that I purchase the material because she trusted me and not them. Pandemic hit and everything was shut down including her hairdresser business. She indicated not having money to continue with the construction, understandably so, she was out of work. *** ******* thought because we had engaged in a romantic relationship that I would then pay for the rest of the construction, when that was not the case, she became upset. I continued to recommend finding a licensed contractor to finish the work. The total amount she will have to pay for the construction will be a lot more due to the increase in wood prices, however, that is not my responsibility as I am not a licensed general contractor and not my responsibility. The work I am certified to do is drafting, which was completed and approved by the city. Everything else she asked of me was out of friendship that I decided to assist and connect her with local and known contractors - therefore I should be absolved from such inflammatory claims.
