I have been a victim of identity theft and unable to contact lowermybills.com. Someone entered my information and leads were sent from this website/business to multiple mortgage lenders around the country. I am unable to request delete or do not sell my information as not a resident of California (on their website). They are unresponsive.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/30) */ Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about your situation and are happy to assist. There is an opt out function on the LMB website for consumers in any state or city. There is also language which deals specifically with CCPA - which is a California law with rights prescribed to California residents, so the process of CCPA requests to delete personal information and to not sell information are limited to California residents only. However, as noted, the LMB website and any other communication from LMB to consumers have opt out functions that allow you to unsubscribe. If there was an issue or concern about how to opt out, please let us know. For your convenience, we have placed you on our LMB Do Not Contact lists, as the note here indicates you desired to accomplish. I have completed the page 2 on my information via data deletion it will not allow you to submit. The error says that you were not in California. This has hit me as an inquiry on all three credit bureaus and has dropped me 20+ points. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/02/02) */ Thank you for the additional information. The website functionality allows consumers from any state to be added to our Do Not Call list. The specific CCPA processes required by state law, only apply to California residents, as that is the scope of the CCPA's applicability. We have removed this consumer from our production database, and therefore, she should not receive any additional marketing or outreach messages. With respect to the credit report corrections, we would note that LowerMyBills does not collect social security numbers, and does not engage any credit bureau services. There is no credit check, and no request for credit verification. The LMB form is a request for marketing contacts only, not a request for approval, funding, or pre-qualification. So, no activity that LMB engages in would appear in, or have any effect on, a credit report. From the consumer's feedback, it appears that there could be other third party activity taking place, which is affecting the overall credit score. Since we are not a credit reporter/financial service institution with a credit bureau relationship, not only do we not have any soft pull or hard pull capability, but we also have no mechanism to correct or amend credit report entries.
