I WENT TO SPEAKEASY FITNESS WHERE I HAVE A MEMBERSHIP IN THE BEGINNING OF MAY AND TRIED TO SIGN MY FRIEND UP FOR A ***** PASS WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ADDITIONAL $8 A MONTH. HE FILLED OUT HIS INFORMATION AND PAYMENT INFORMATION AND WE WERE TOLD IT COULDN'T BE PROCESSED. SO WE PAID THE $20 THEY CHARGE FOR A DAY PASS AND DECIDED TO TRY TO COME BACK AND DO IT LATER. A WEEK GOES BY AND I TRY AGAIN WITH MY INFORMATION BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS A PROBLEM SO I JUST DECIDED TO FORGET THE WHOLE IDEA. ON MAY 10TH, THEY CHARGED MY FRIEND $18.99 FOR THE ***** PASS. THEY CONTINUED TO SEND ME TEXTS AN EMAILS NONSTOP ABOUT A PAST DUE BALANCE WHEN THEY ALREADY CHARGED MY FRIEND AFTER TELLING US IT DIDN'T GO THROUGH THE FIRST TIME AND CHARGING ME $20 FOR THAT DAY.Initial Complaint

Today I went to the speakeasy gym on ****************** in *********** ********** to cancel my cousins (****************************) gym membership who recently passed away on 9/28/2023. I also realized that my cousin had also created a gym membership for me which I was unaware of. I never physically went to sign up for this membership there is no proof of id I ever submitted anything. I tried to cancel the membership on the spot today but the employees were unable to help me they basically told me I wont be able to cancel. I am just really confused and concerned because I never requested for this gym membership. I dont want my identity to be used in any fraudulent manner its my name and phone number in this account which I am unable to cancel. Can I please get assistance with this issue. I have never even gone to this gym in my life till today when I tried canceling my cousins account. I dont even have a pass. I have attached ***** death certificate for proof. My phone number is ********** and I can be contacted at any time. This membership is fraudulently under my name. My cousin was amazing but I am not to sure if the membership that he created under my name was incorrectly used and for this reason I disapprove of the misuse of my personal information. The employees at the gym today did not want to assist me today as I asked for their name they told me they were not obligated to provide there them and ask me to leave the premises. It is concerning to have an establishment assign an individual to a membership and charging their account without consent. An establishment should have proof of id to use someones personal information in a database. Never did I come in person or physically sign any contract yet I have a membership that is amble to be cancelled and is being billed to my account without consent. This is very concerning and this business should have better protocol of handling person information this is a violation of my identity.
