My name is *********************** and I am a senior and registered disabled person in **********. I would like file a formal complaint against Sinclair Gas aka Simcha, **** As a disabled person - I was treated unfairly and my request was dismissed for assistance at the pump. On 05/15/2023 around 6:15 PM, I went to Sinclair Gas on ****** and ******** in ***********, **. I paid with my Credit Card at pump #4 and began pumping gas. To my surprise, it would not stop even when the gas tank was filled up. I tried to remove the pump from my car but I was unable to and the gas kept flowing and it did not stop automatically. Luckily someone else near the pump assisted me and was able to take the pump out but the gas was still flowing at this time.I then asked the Cashier for assistance about the gas that kept flowing but he dismissed my request even after I told him I was disabled and need his assistance. He said he can't help me since that the pump was working fine before me and then handed me a receipt. I asked if he can help me with the credit since the pump was obviously malfunctioning. He dismissed my request.My car is a ***** civic 2009 with 4 cylinders and filling it up at empty does not cost me anymore than about $30. Because of the flow -my credit card was charged $45.54.As a disabled person, the Cashier refused to credit me the money but more importantly, he refused to help me. Bad business - under the American Disability Act, I am a protected class of individuals. Please assist me in making sure this business is held accountable for the way its employee refused assistance to a disabled person, such as myself.
