Wise Choice *********************, Project Manager Attached are the Flyer, Finance Application, and Business card.April 26, 2024 Wanting to finally relieve myself of the annual war with backyard weeds, the statements on the Wise Choice flyer (received via ***** aroused my curiosity. The receptionist set an appointment for yesterday, April 25. Project Manager ********************* appeared at my door on time. After exchanging typical pleasantries, we discussed my idea to install artificial turf. He of course measured the area. He explained the procedure that included clearing and leveling the surface, installing protective ground covers and then the artificial turf. He provided a rough estimate of about $200.00 per month but did not state the loan term limit.Back inside my home, I provided personal information. I then called the three credit bureaus to unfreeze my accounts. He walked outside to make a phone call. He returned and in a gleeful and loud voice declared my application approved.I then asked for details. His loan company fixed the monthly payments at $192.00. Still reluctant to provide the term of the loan, I pressed. He finally informed me that it was 15 years. (That means my last payment would be in my 88th year.) I added the bold print notes on the application after he left my home. Please also note that he entered my annual income to be $45,000.00. This, despite doing the arithmetic in front of him and then informing him that my Social Security income to be $1,611.00 per month, or $19,332.00 per year.Although he left me the application and I am not aware of him copying or otherwise saving my personal details, I fear that he, or Wise Choice, or the loan company, may in possession of my Social Security and California Drivers License numbers, and my date of birth. He also knows that I took out a reverse mortgage in 2022. I must implore and defer to your oversight on this unsettling matter.Respectfully,*******************************Business response

I am rejecting this response because:The responder said nothing about:
1: ************************* reluctance to provide the term of the loan.
2. ********************* wrote that my annual income is $45,000. I told him it is $19,000.
3. Providing a loan term under 15 YEARS does not address the exorbitant sum of over $35,000 for a 20' x 50' patch of fake grass. If I agreed to the absurd cost of the lawn, my last payment would be in my 88th year.
4. I believe he and/or Wise Choice designed the presentation to intentionally deceive potential customers.
5. Wise Choice and/or ********************* may be guilty of elder abuse. I am 73 and, as I made clear to *****, live on a fixed Social Security income of $1,611 per month.
6. The company representative merely parroted ******* words. I am insulted and disgusted with the unmitigated condescension of this company.
Sincerely,

Complaint: 21629072
I am rejecting this response because:"The discrepancy in the income submitted arose from the instructions provided in the GoodLeap application forms, which specified gross income."
"We acknowledge that the application process through GoodLeap was a stated application only, without income verification or hard credit checks at that initial stage."
1. ********************* entered $45,000.00. He did so without my awareness at that time and after I confided my annual income is $19,332.00. In other words, he pulled a figure out of thin air. I assume he intended to close the deal by any means possible.
2. At ****************** request, I spent several minutes calling the three credit bureaus. I then told ************** that all were unfrozen until the following Tuesday.
It remains that $34,500 for a 50 x 20 patch of make-believe grass is absurd.
3. These acts were immoral and manipulative. Furthermore, and as expected, Wise Choice insists on dancing around my complaints. I will never conduct business with anyone clearly untrustworthy. Expect this to be my last communication with you. I am out of patience to the point of disgust.Sincerely,
*******************************
