I was at Montare in Malibu for all of three weeks if that. The experience was horrible to say the least. Therapists and staff were quitting and being bounced around due to not having staff. The concept of the treatment center is ok, but that actual treatment center itself is poorly ran and does not do what it is supposed to. Within the first week my therapist told me how she was too busy to help me process because I had alot to process and I was advised to pick up extra sessions with my outside therapist. Not what my insurance is paying for. I continued to bump heads with my therapist for the next couple of weeks and finally by the third week I was there she decided to give me two processing sessions. But thats all I received. Majority of the staff is incompetent and has no idea what their doing because their new. They also give you a schedule to get you to come here. There is really only two groups a day and you have the choice to attend or not. Everyone mainly sits around on their phones all day with no real structure. I was lied to and told that I would get 5 therapy sessions a week. what they fail to tell u, is its 2 therapy sessions if your therapists decides to see you twice a week. 1 emdr session if that therapists feels your ready for emdr. case manager session and a doctor session. They refused to pick up the medications that my doctor was giving me. It took 3 weeks for me to finally get on meds and have them start working with my outside doctor although contact information was traded my first week of being there. Even with all of this I wanted to stay and do PHP. Unfortunately they refused to submit a SCA- single case agreement because they stated they had submitted one for someone in the past and it was not approved. so they refused to take that step for me although I was expressing I was sucicidal and not ready to go home. Once I finally tried to go home the Sunday before the Tuesday morning that they were sending me home. they wouldnt let me go. RUN!!!
