California Fair Plan (***) insurance policy is renewed on July 19 every year for my home. The *** received my payment in full for insurance coverage on June 21, 2024 from my mortgage company escrow account, a full month before the deadline. On July 19th the *** cancelled my policy for non-payment. They then refunded the payment to my mortgage company on July 19th which proves they had my payment in hand. They cancelled my policy without cause which will cost me money due to my mortgage company providing. Expensive gap coverage and my time to sort this out. This is unacceptable

CFP has owed us close to $5k since Apr 20th, 2024. They owe us a refund because we canceled with them and they still billed us through an automatic payment. We set up a cancelation well before the renewal (90+ days). They give us the run around, then tell us the cancelation is processing. Three separate times they have told us this, but when we don't get a check in the mail (only way they send refunds), we call back in, and each time I'm told they don't have a cancelation in process. I would like to sue for interest and mental anguish. This sounds ridiculous, but our mortgage is attached to this, and our lender raised our mortgage by $2000/mo. We have a newborn and this is not an added headache we want.

I have been trying to work with the fair plan and they have been nothing but difficult, rude, and lie every time when saying someone will call back or they will review an application. Fair Plan is not helping clients, it is just pushing the problem down the line.

Hello,I have communicated with California Fair Plan (CFP) on numerous occasions to inquire about my refund of $5,589.00. Please see email below that describes the 2 payments of $5,590.00 made to CFP and the fact that I have only received a refund of 1 of those payments. I cancelled my policy with CFP shortly after both payments were sent to CFP and am entitled to a refund of both payments.I have been communicating with CFP to request an explanation for delay in refund and a date that the funds will be returned to me. Unfortunately, I have only received cursory responses without an explanation or a date in which to expect the refund. Not having this money available to pay my current insurance is creating a challenge, and I appreciate any assistance you may provide. The email sent to CFP on 10 June 2024:To whom it may concern,I have not yet received my refund of $5,589.00 after cancelling my policy (Policy # CFP **********) for coverage of the property located at ******************************************I spoke with an attendant at CFP who indicated that the payment via **check submitted by me on 28 April 2024 has status pending. The funds from the **check were removed directly from my checking account on 30 April 2024 as per the screenshot below. Please let me know when my refund will be processed. Please feel free to call with any questions. Please note that my mortgage company also made a payment of $5,589.00, which was an overpayment that was refunded back to me on 14 May 2024 in the form of a check with the disbursement ID *****. The **check payment that I submitted on 28 April 2024 was a second payment, the refund of which I have not received.Thank you,********************************** Ph. ************** ****************************************

On approx. June 18th of 2023 I purchased a home through CalVet. I was told all closing costs would be wrapped into my loan. However, this was apparently incorrect as someone had me pay for my insurance to the California Fair Plan in Advance, which I would later find out was an error and I needed a refund. As of this June 18th it will be 1 year since I over paid this California Fair Plan and for nearly the first 6 months I could not get anyone to answer the phone & finally complained to the department of insurance. On January 19th 2024 I received a return call from *******************, the Underwriting Supervisor.*********** seemed attentive & caring & willing to help me resolve my issue for a refund. In her letter it was stated my first refund check was sent to ************************************. This was a wrong address & wrong person, the check floated around for months uncashed. In the letter dated 1-19-24 I was promised I would receive another check in my name, at my address in 7-10 days. LOL...it never arrived. In approx March I called *********** again & explained the check never arrived again. Shocked, *********** stated she would request an expedited check from another department. Weeks later, no check. On 4-29 & May 1, of 2024 called ************************ played phone tag. I let her know my patience was running thin as I had not received what had been promised to me for nearly a year now. On May 1st ******************* left me a message stating a check had been mailed (she did not say to whom or where it had been mailed to) but did say the check had been cashed. I left here a message that I had not received the check, nor had I cashed it & to please call me. I have been ****** patience has come to an abrupt end with this last insult. How to you both verbally and in writing state that you will be refunding someone's check to their home address directly and then do the opposite. Where is that check, to whom did you send it? Who cashed it. Who is responsible?

Back in March of 2024 I received a letter from California Fair Plan (CFP) stating that my policy would be cancelled on 4/15/2024 if I did not show proof that my roof had been repaired. Since I did not have any roof damage nor did I ever file a claim on my roof, I called CFP and spoke with an ***************************. I explained to her that I did not have any roof damage and I that did never filed a claim on my roof. She told me to send her pictures of my roof. Which I sent to ******************** I thought this would rectify the issue. On Monday, April 29, 2024, I received a letter from my mortgage company stating that my homeowners insurance had been cancelled on 4/15/2024 and that I would need to secure new homeowners insurance. I immediately called CFP and spoke with ******, who told me there was nothing I could do and that I should get new insurance. I informed her I spoke to ****** over a month ago and sent in the photographs of my roof. She claimed she spoke to her supervisor who claimed they never received the photos. When I asked to speak to the supervisor to resolve this issue, I was hung up on. I've had the policy for 20 years without issue. I never had roof damage. Please help me resolve this problem.

CA State Fair Plan owes me a reimbursement of $3525.00. The check they issued does not have a routing number, 3 banks have declined my deposit. One band, ***** Fargo, called this a fraudulent check. I have asked 5 times via phone call, sent pictures of letters from the banks, sent a picture of the check to CA State Fair Plan with a response stating they are reviewing my case. This has been ongoing for over 30 days.

I received a bill (invoice) in the mail from California Fair Plan on 04/13/2024. The Invoice date was 03/22/2024 and states that the payment is due on 04/12/2024. I went online to make a payment as soon as I received the invoice but was unable to pull up my account. I then called my broker. I just spoke with him today on 04/17/2024 and he can't get on the online portal to make the payment and indicated that my policy states that it was cancelled. This is ridiculous. Also, they threatened to cancel my policy earlier claiming that it was due to my wood siding needing to be replaced. This is equally ridiculous because my siding is cement fiber, not wood, and they were advised of this. The California Fair Plan is a sham operating as a quasi governmental agency. California needs to do better.

California ********* incorrectly charged me surcharges for my home having trees overhanging *******, when I have no trees within 100' of my structure per a fire mitigation plan . They raised my rates and said my annual payment of $11,000 was not paid when I have proof of receipt it was paid by my escrow mortgage insurance company. They then tried to cancel my policy even after they had received my premium payment. If not for the many hours of my heroic insurance broker fighting these people I would have no fire insurance. The current policies instituted by the insurance industry lobbyists and California Insurance regulators is destroying their constituents and the middle class by design.California ********* is an out of control scam perpetrated on California residents by the Insurance Industry they should be investigated on ***************** charges and fraud.
