my check engine light was on it was determined that I needed a new engine so I went to turbo city dismantles I payed *****$ for a used engine and labor. when they finished with the car the same day I went to pick it up I drove home the check engine light came on I called the shop he said to bring the car back to see what's the problem they put it on the machine he said it was the knock sensor I had to pay 200$ for them to install new ones so the next day I went to pick up the car again it was fine three days later the check engine light came back on I called the shop he told me they have other cars so I would have to wait but if I already paid my car should have been first priority so I called again two days later he told me he doesn't have a mechanic at the moment the mechanic had an emergency so I took the car to auto zone they put it on the machine told me it was the knock sensor but mind you I had already paid turbo city 200$ to fix it in total I end up spending *****$ for my car to still not be fixed the check engine light is still on I can't even get my car smogged to get my registration because of this check engine light is still on its very inconvenient for me to keep having to go down there when my car should be fixed I believe there trying to con me out of my money I have all the receipts of every paymentBusiness response

Consumer Response /* (-5, 5, 2022/04/07) */ yesterday I went back to the business to have them look at my car, my car was not passing for smog. the business said there was nothing they can do and they were going to refund my money and they said it was not their problem to fix my car. Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/04/07) */ GOOD AFTERNOON. ON BEHALF OF ME AND MY STAFF AT TURBO CITY . CUSTOMER BY THE NAME OF **** ********* CALLED US LOOKING FOR AN ENGINE FOR FOR HERE CAR WHICH WE LISTED ON CAR PARTS FOR THE PRICE OF $850.00 AS A USED ENGINE. AGAIN A USED ENGINE. CUSTOMER DROOPED OF THE CAR ON 2/19/22 WITH THE AGREEMENT THAT WE INSTALL THE ENGINE . LABOR COST TO DO THE JOB INSTALLING A USED ENGINE FOR HER CAR WAS $650.00 . WHICH MAKES IT A TOTAL OF $****.00 . WE COMPLETED THE JOB WITHIN 5 DAYS FROM THE DAY THAT IT WAS OFF . WE CALLED THE CUSTOMER AND INFORMED HERE THAT THE CAR WAS READY. AS WHEN WE CLEARED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THE CAR SHOWED NO CODS AT ALL. CUSTOMER SHOWED UP ON 3/1/22 TO PICK UP THE CAR AND THE NEXT DAY SHE CALLED AND SAID THE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE ASKED HERE TO BRING IT SO WE CAN CHECK AND SEE WHAT IT WRONG. A FEW DAYS LATER SHE DROPPED OFF THE CAR AND WE DISCOVERED THAT THE CAR WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE KNOCK SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS JOB WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS TO DO. SENSOR COST IS $200.00 . MIND YOU THIS IS NOT PART OF REPLACING THE ENGINE. OUR JOB TO REPLACE HER BAD ENGINE WITH THE USED ENGINE. SHE MADE A FIT ABOUT HAVING TO SPEND $200 PULSE WE REQUIRED AN ADDITIONAL $ 150.00 FOR THE EXTRA LABOR WE WHERE DOING FOR HER CAR. AND WHEN SHE TOOK THE CAR THE 2ND TIME SHE HAD CALLED FOR US TO CHECK THE CAR AGAIN AND AT THIS TIME WE DIDN'T HAVE A MECHANIC ON SITE FOR 3 DAYS. IN ANY WAY SHE JUST SHOWS UP HERE AND EXPECTED US TO STOP EVERYTHING TO TAKE CARE OF HERE CAR. SHE NEVER COMES WHEN SHES ASKED TO COME. WE VALUE OUR CUSTOMERS AND YESTERDAY 4/6/22 WALKED IN HERE AND WAS UPSET AND REQUESTED HERE $ 200 REFUND HERE AND I REFUND THE $200 TO HER. AT THIS POINT I AM NOT SURE WHAT ELSE I NEED TO DO FOR HERE 2003 CAMRY. When I asked the guy about the knock sensors he told me it does have something to do with the engine he said that's why my car wasn't Accelerating because it needed new knock sensors he said once he do that it should drive better and you guys didn't do something right my car isn't passing smog because they said The knock sensors need to be replaced but remind you that's what you guys where paid to do and my check engine light still comes on it's still not catching up on speed when I step down on the gas and I had already told you guys that I am not a satisfied customer and when I told the owner he said it's not his problem Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/04/19) */ GOOD MORNING . AS FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BASED ON WHAT THE SCANNER SAID . WAS THE KNOCK SENSOR , SO WE DID THE JOB AND CAR WAS GOOD FOR A FEW DAYS. CUSTOMER SHOWED UP HERE AT HERE CONVINCE AND WAS NOT A GOOD TIME . WE WHERE SUPER BUSY AND HAD NO TECHNICIAN TO DOUBLE CHECK THE CAR . CUSTOMER REQUESTED HER REFUND FOR THE KNOCK SENSOR JOB AND I HAVE A COPE OF THE REFUND SIGNED BY THE CUSTOMER . AS FOR REPLACING THE USED ENGINE WE COMPLETED OUR JOB . AT THIS POINT I AM NOT SURE WHAT DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED FROM US. I WAS VERY CLEAR ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE TO THE CAR. FOR FURTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL ME ********** ****. THANK YOU Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2022/04/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) when I went to autozone they put it in the machine and told me my knock sensors needed to be replaced I asked for a refund because you guys obviously didn't do something right if the machine is reading my sensors need to be replaced considering you guys "said you installed new ones " you specifically said that's not your problem. The used engine you guys put in my car My check engine light still is on it goes on and off and my car is still not accelerating Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2022/05/03) */ Good morning . as for the knock sensor was bought and replaced as you requested based on what auto zone was telling you. we totally did the replacement of the part at no charge for labor that took almost 3 hours. the part is still on your car. i do suggest if you where not happy with our work than go to auto zone and have them replace your knock sensor again. thank you and have a great day Consumer Response /* (4200, 21, 2022/05/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) It took 3 hours and yet my car is still not fixed so no I am not happy with your work !! I paid you for a job and my car is still not fixed like I said the check engine light is still on and my car is still not accelerating
