The event venue uses misleading and deceptive tactics to force customers to pay for services that were promised. I understand businesses are just trying to maximize their profits but this particular venue is very very deceptive. For example, they offer limited free entry to an event if you arrive within a certain time frame. They advertise this a lot and everywhere to bring customers in. The problem is they say they open the door around 10 pm and the limit free entry is until 10:30. What they do instead is just wait mostly until like 10:15 or 10:20 sometimes to even begin letting people in. Obviously, this forces people to pay at the door. It would be understandable if it occurred once given there are sometimes unexpected circumstances, but this is a common practice. The reason I'm actually submitting a claim now though is because they took a step further this time. What they do now is provide tickets to those who enter before the time frame and become invalid after the 10:30. Well this time the business didn't even honor the tickets and expected all customers to pay once they arrived at the door. This was a clear case of false advertising and bad business practices. They stated the reason was because the venue had a sold-out show, but how does that make sense if you obtained a ticket for it? They expected an entry fee of $40 and after waiting in the long line for a show I wanted to see, I felt forced to pay. I don't believe businesses should offer something to lure customers only to not honor it. Seems like an easy case of bate and switch.
