      I would like this company investigated for unfair practice with their parking payment kiosk. I parked at ******************* to go to pick up my wife from her appointment. The time stamp on my parking was 11:33 am. There is free 20 minute parking so when I went back to the parking and inserted my ticket at the kiosk it was 11:52. This is within 20 minutes so the screen on the payment kiosk said my ticket has been "validated". It did not charged me anything which is as expected. I proceeded to exit and while exiting, there were 3 cars in front of me and it took about 3-4 minutes to get to the gate. When I scanned my ticket to the gate kiosk to have the gate opened, it said I owe them $3. There were other cars behind me so I did not bother to contest this. I'm just so frustrated that they would do this to their customers. I am suspecting that they do this a lot so they can charge $3 dollars to people who parked less than 20 minutes. If they are honest in this situation, why would the initial payment kiosk tell me that my ticket has been "validated"? It should have said "unable to read, please reinsert" if there was a problem. I would like to save some future patients who need every cent they can save for their medical care and also a refund of my $3. I have attached my ticket with the ticket number, so they can provide you when exactly I presented my ticket for processing. I am hoping that they will see the 11:52 am activity, as well as when I paid for it around 11:56 am. I am looking forwards to their response to this.

      Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/08/31) */ Contact Name and Title:**************** Contact Phone:************* Contact Email: ****************************** Upon review, based on the customers time inside the parking structure, the $3.00 charge was the proper amount to charge. When the customer initially scanned their ticket at 11:52am (19 minutes after entering), their ticket was still under the 20-minute grace period, therefore, no payment was required. At this point, the customer had 1 minute to reach the exit machine without processing a payment. Please note, the Pay stations do not stop the time unless a payment was processed. If a payment was processed, the system will give you a 15-minute grace period to exit the garage. After reviewing the footage, the customer did indeed have 3 vehicles before them, which is beyond our control, yet understandable. MPI will gladly issue a $3.00 refund to the customer for any inconveniences this has caused. Thank you, Modern Parking, Inc.
