I was a loyal and happy customer of ********************** LA Pilates studio in Silverlake for two years with an unlimited monthly membership ($225), which consisted of taking an unlimited number of reformer classes for a fixed price every month. I have taken 440 Pilates classes as of today. Pilates is my life. I love my teachers and my classes. Its within walking distance from my place. On 10/26/23, the night before my automatic renewal, Avenir emailed me to inform me that they were terminating my membership for not adhering to their studio policies. These included unfounded false accusations such as interrupting teachers during class (which has never happened), being disrespectful to staff, teachers, and clients (which has never happened), and being late (admittedly, it has occurred a few times, but always within their 5-minute maximum late policy). The only issue I raised, which seems to have upset them, was my complaint about and request for a refund due to their regular erroneous charges of a $20 fee for missing classes, even though I attended them. I have never received any warnings about any problems. This is not fair, and I am very shocked and saddened. Because it seems like a mistake, I even thought they might have mixed me up with another person. I have emailed them several times to discuss and resolve this. They have been ignoring my emails except the one for the membership they charged me by mistake.I even posted a review on ******* Yelp, and ********* on which they answered, apologizing, and saying there was a miscommunication about this termination and the studio manager will contact me soon. Nobody has contacted me.Unfortunately, I cant do Pilates anymore. I dont drive. It was the only good studio in the neighborhood with a membership offer. I can't afford the other studios without membership. I want to resume my membership and classes at Avenir ** Silverlake. If not, I request a compensation of one year of membership for terminating mine.
