      I paid this company in full within the first 6 months of working with them and was told my case was very strong to get 100% relief based on multiple factors and that my case would be solved in 6 months to 1 year. That was over 2 years ago and they are still not solving my case with the **** I literally just got pushed to another account manager, this is number 4 now, who asked if I wanted my case put on hold!!!!!!!!! because I didnt earn any income in 2023 and have no W-2 or 1099 to file/fill out a tax return. I cant believe this is happening when *** paid them in full and theyve had my case since ***** and the only reason I hired this company is because a top notch manager, *********************, said he would be personally following my case through to completion but now doesnt work there anymore. Ever since he left the company, it feels like I get zero priority and zero help with my case. I was told by *************************** who works in the compliance department that my case should be resolved in the next month or two and that 100% of my debt should be relieved based on all the factors they look at, but that was 4 months ago now and again its like Ive been totally forgotten about until this new case manager asks if I want my case put on hold!!!!. And to this day this company is still not solving it and keep giving me different account managers. Im beside myself after this latest person asked if I wanted my case put on hold. Why would I want that when this was supposed to be done years ago and theyve already been paid in full. How unprofessional and rude. I cant take anymore of the unfulfilled promises different people from the company keep telling me and then nothing happens, the deadline they tell me comes and goes and I receive zero communication on what happened and whats going on now to get this done since another assurance turned out to be a lie. Id like to know if I should hire an attorney to *** this company because this is causing me severe hardship.

      I hired this company to help me with my tax debt in 2021, til this day nothing has been resolved on behalf and I had to contact the *** myself today, 5/3/2024 because I continued to get collections notices and wasn't sure why when this company was supposed to be working on my behalf. I was told by the *** today that no one from this company has contacted the *** on my behalf since Dec 2022 and at that time it was just to ask for a 30 day hold. This company made promises to get my debt lowered which is why I signed up in the first place and after getting my money, then I was told there was nothing that could be done from them besides make payment arrangements something that I had to eventually do with the *** myself since no one contacted them. May I also add the payment arrangements I made with the *** are alot lower than what this so called tax company offered to set up for me. In this 3 year time frame this company has done absolutely nothing for me besides pass me around to person to person. Ive had multiple people so called working my case and none of them are knowledgeable as to what is going on. I have truly been scammed and it's devasting to take advantage of people who are going through something as scary as *** tax problems.

      While preparing tax returns we communicated with the department of treasury agents due to the open exam. This case was more complex than tax return. We have all documentation to back up this statement. The scam comment, name calling and bulling because of your buyers remorse now that your are out of the situation is completely unnecessary and could be deemed defamatory.       This is for the ***** *************** Legal Tax Defense branch in ****** **. I hired their service to help me with *** tax problem. I talk to one of their representative in September 2023 and told them I want to do Offer in Compromise, they worked on my case, had me filled up a OIC questionnaire which I didnt qualify but they didnt tell me I didnt qualify and just proceed to negotiate with *** to lessen the interest supposedly from 18% to 5% and they wanted me to set up a payment arrangement. All that time I didnt get any communication from them and Its really hard to get ahold of them when you try to call, the lady that answers always tells you that your case manager would call back but they never will, and its a different case manager every month. They emailed me every month to sign ***** of ******** letter cus they say it expired? I told them I didnt want this route as my initial plan is OIC but they wouldnt refund me because according to the manager they couldnt just give me a refund if im not satisfied with their service? Its not the service I wanted in the first place. I just want my $2,500 refund back. This company is really predatory and shady practice. I didnt sign anything that says I want to make a payment plan to the *** but they told me I did sign.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The already amended my taxes and signaficantly decreased my amount owed by at least 80% contrary to what they wanted me to do to just set up a payment arrangement. They are telling me I have an option now? They could have offered that option while they were working on my file. And the only option I ever wanted was the offer in compromise, nothing else, if I couldnt qualify they could have at least communicated with me and I would have stopped from there but they prolonged it knowing I pay a monthly payment. I didnt get any communication from these guys at all and its so hard to reach anyone in that office and if ever you did reach anyone they dont know what to do and always say theyre gonna let the case manager call back which of course it never happens.

      this goes to show that Legal tax defense is an incompetitive company, they gave me the same response from the last time. I dont want your federal solution because you dont have one. You want me to set up a payment arrangement, thats about it.

      1/2000 - We reached out to Legal Tax Defense and was told they could help us and took our case with the **** However, till this day I have not received any decision regarding our issue with the **** We're only getting emails from so called Jr ******** asking if the *** has contacted us via mail etc. several times. Do these people even talk to each other? We've asked for a Fresh Start, but we have not received any response back regarding if we even qualify. This is actually our second time filing a complaint with the BBB regarding Legal Tax Defense. We just want them to get this wrapped up. My ex-wife and I want to be able to move forward without this financial burden, which is what we thought Legal Tax Defense would help us with.

      $500 was paid to Tax Defense Group on **** of ************ credit card 8/31/23 from myself *******************. I never received any services. Not only did I not receive any services, the *** billed me a new bill I did not have yet for $682 in response to Tax Defense Groups new payment to file my taxes. So right after paying $500, I get another fast bill for $682. Im low income and usually spend only $20 to $30 for food and fuel so these two fees are past my budget. Im just a delivery driver having worked at Uber and Postmates. Im hoping this company will refund as standard. I also hired and paid ******************* but when they only had Spanish speaking representatives in my area, they politely and promptly refunded $295 back to my credit card. With Tax Defense Group, I hope someone will refund my **** card. The Spanish representative I got ********************** has an accent even though hes bilingual but its too difficult for me to understand and past my ability. I cant tell if the payment is missing or what has happened to the $500 given to them. My feelings are hurt. The company says it handles both federal and state taxes but then later told me that they only do federal, not state. Federal and State were not even the issue for me. For me, after the payment I got an agent who was Spanish speaking and didnt render any at all type of legal service. I did not receive any product or service after the $500 **** payment and it was supposed to be about a years worth of tax service. I hope the business Tax Defense will come to a resolution with me and offer a refund.

      Legal Tax Defense takes any consumer complaints seriously. This taxpayer hired our company for a Discovery Tax Investigation. After the client signed the service agreement along with the ***** of ******** we conducted & completed this service with the ********** of ********* The consumer is has not filed their tax returns for multiple years (a non compliant tax payer). Due to our privacy policy we can not disclose anymore info here on the BBB. This is a frivolous complaint and the client may have a case of buyers remorse because she does not want to pay anyone to conduct this additional service. We are here to figure out what the tax problem is through a discovery and provide a plan of action. You can always take the Discovery Results to another Tax Doctor if you are not happy with the diagnoses or prescription.

      I signed a contract with this organization that said it would only charge me $500.00 to represent me regarding my back taxes with the **** I informed them that I had to make to payments of $250.00 because I didn't have $500. They told me that would be fine. They sent me the contract where I initialed and dated the contract. The 1st $250 was deducted from my savings account and the other $250 on the 18th of August. Then on or about the 22nd of August, I discovered that they charged my Discover credit card $****.00. I immediately called to complain and was told that I signed the contract. I asked that it be sent to me and they sent me a document that had the same exact initials in several different places. I told them that they copied the one time that I was asked to initial and then put my initials in the rest of the document stating that I was in agreement with the extra almost $2000. I told them that I wanted my money back and did not want them to represent me. They never responded nor did they represent me with the **** I have been working with the credit card company who have a crazy policy that says if it is in writing then they don't get involved. It is coming up on a year and nothing has been done to date. I understand about the $500 and will take that as a loss but the $****.00 is totally unacceptable and I want them to return the money back to Discover along with the interest that I am being charged. I recently tried to pull up the email that they send me and received this error message "404" Oops" Page not found We could not find the page you were long for They are taking advantage of me as well as many others I'm sure and this has to be addressed immediately. It is bad enough that they charged my credit card, but the very least they could do it return the money because they didn't do anything on my behalf. I do hope that this matter can be resolved amicably as I really can't afford to pay an extra **** for a service that conned me.

      The company has yet to respond to my complaint.  I sent a response on June 5, stating that I had not received any information from anyone.  According to the company, they were going to get back to me in 24 business hours and call me.  Neither has happened.  I called the complaint line and was advised that I should send a response in this area of the complaint to get my information addressed.  I hope that this reaches the appropriate people.  Thank you and have a great weekend.

      I am rejecting this response because:  I was charged that fee without ever being told about it.  I have tried to reach them several times and no one has ever responded.  Therefore, I do not want to work with an organization that said they would only charge $500 and then add on more fees.  My issue with my taxes has been resolved without their assistance and I really want my full payment back but will settle for the money they charged on my discover card without my consent.

      Legal Tax Defense is ********* Services. I contacted this company for tax services (Vercy). I have paid this company $****** to assist in consolidating my past taxes. I was in contact with 5 different people from this company (Vercy) over a period of 11 months. I received letter of garnishment from the *** so it prompted me to call them. When I called (Vercy) the numbers had been disconnected and all emails went unanswered. My credit card company was able to find a new contact number at Vercy which is Legal Tax Defense. No services were ever completed and they have not communicated to the State or *** until now. I am out ****** dollars. The Legal Tax defense is ********* taking money for services and never completing the job.

      I am rejecting this response because: ************ is a SCAM!! I sought out services for legal tax assistance. The company switched their name to a new company with all the same employees. My BBB complaint was followed up with said company with malicious intent and EXTREMELY aggressive behavior that scared me. The phone call asking for my refund was one of the scariest moments in my life. No attempt has ever been made on this companies part to help in anyway except spend my money.  ************ stole $14,000.00 dollars to assist in paying off previous tax liabilities. I had paid for services that were NOT rendered. It is now 2 years later and this company still has not contacted the *** on my behalf. THIS COMPANY IS SCAM!! I felt my life was in danger with this company since they hold all of my personal information.
