On 3/29/2022 after my ************** had been at the business for several business days, ****** called to tell me to pick up my vehicle, they didn't do anything to fix the car. I was surprised they couldn't fix the leaks being a transmission shop-he said they hadn't put the car up to look and diagnose it. I gave ****** permission to diagnose the car problems and email me an estimate for service. I am confident I asked for an estimate before he started working on the car because I always do this with my cars and mechanics. I have always asked for a written estimate prior to beginning work because I believe it is the best way to keep mechanics honest. ****** called yesterday 4/7/2022 saying my car was done and he had told me it was going to cost around $**** and I had agreed to that-which I had not. I agreed to a written estimate. The work they did is not work I would have authorized. I have a ************** I am trying to bring back to its original state, and the transmission was not the original transmission. Instead of asking me whether I wanted to obtain an original transmission they rebuilt the changed transmission. I would not have okayed that without further investigation of what it would cost to obtain a new and true to the original transmission of the car. Now I have a bill for $******* and a rebuilt transmission I did not want or authorize. ****** keeps insisting I approved the work but I am adamant I did not and would not. I believe this business took advantage of me because I am a woman which is the reason I always ask for a detailed estimate before work has begun.
