On 7/15/23, I hired *************************** of Custom Bendz to install a black wrought iron fence around my property. He would be installing 2 wrought iron sliding doors (one in the front and one on the side of my property next to my driveway). Included in the payment and initial deposit was a retainer wall about 2 feet tall to prevent the soil from run-off into the sidewalk. It also included pouring concrete to retain the fence panels. The work would also include priming and painting the fence black. The estimated work was 2 weeks. The fence was not finished and retainer wall was not done. ***** installed a rusted fence and kept charging me for materials. 2 weeks turned into 5-6 months of unfinished work and numerous cancellations, often without notification. The work estimate was $6085. By December 9, 2023, I had given him a total of $6050 (9 different payments). Dates of transaction were: 7/16, 7/17, 7/27, 8/11, 8/19, 9/1, 10/17, 10/25, and 12/9. The initial deposit was for $3750. ***** installed a fence that started rusting and he would weld bars that were rusted. He displayed poor workmanship. He was a no show for the majority of the time and would only show up at his convenience. There was always an excuse--he was taking classes, his work truck broke down, he has other projects, too much traffic and he also texted on January 4, 2024 that he did not want to make my fence a commitment anymore. On January 6, 2024, I told ***** that his services were not needed anymore and that I would be having the fence redone. I also requested $6000 from him. In January 2024, I contacted ****** (phone: ************), contractor, from ******'s Wrought Iron, and he informed that the fence was "very bad that it would need to be replaced." Around January 15, 2024, my fence was finished and also repaired by ************************* (phone: ************), contractor, from ******'s Iron Works, which cost me a total of $3500. ***** has not contacted me. I want $6000 back.
