I was the primary patron on the wedding contract and paid the entirety of the deposits. My ex-fiance cancelled the wedding without my knowledge and the company did not obtain my consent before selling my date. I continued to plan for a different event on the same date, continuing to work with outside vendors for THREE MONTHS before someone from the venue let my coordinator know the date had been sold.They offered to let me sell the credit, which took a grueling year to find a stranger on the internet to sell to before telling me they would not handle the finances, and the patron buying the contract would have to trust that they were not being scammed out of $20,000 by me and that the credit would transfer. Additionally, the new patron was treated terribly by the venue and decided to have their wedding elsewhere, which I now believe was intentional. As a result, the credit lapsed as did the time limit listed on the contract to arbitrate. Again, I believe this strategy to b very much intentional.I moved to arbitrate anyway, and the company did not respond. The company had the option to engage in arbitration, but as they were the ones to break the contract I am not bound to the arbitration clause. I've sought counsel and will be taking this to court. Reading the reviews from other guests, it is clear this is a pattern established by this company. I will be recouping my losses at all cost. This company operates in dishonorable ways, putting their bottom line above the services they offer to their guests.This is my final offer; to return the deposits and put this ordeal to rest, or face me in court.Business response

This couple broke up and canceled their event; and all supporting documents on this are in writing. Now, years after, she's asking for her deposit money back. When an event is cancelled, the venue suffers costs in preparing for the event, efforts to get replacement bookings and prepare for those. Hence why a deposit becomes non-refundable at a certain pointCustomer response

I am rejecting this response because:it does not provide supporting documents that I, the bride and primary on the contract and one who paid for the deposits, was informed and consented to cancelling the date. Please provide the documentation to support this response.

We were offered with the minimum spending of ***** dollars base on their packages. After we have paid the deposit, they start changing everything up on us. With the calculation base on our end we only need to spend about ***** dollars, but now with their changes, we have took out almost everything from our wedding and still have to spend about ***** dollars. This to me is consider a fraud. Their upper management is unreachable, and they were delaying our final invoice but promising stuff at the same time, and with the event dates getting closer, now we have no choice, and we cant get our deposit back! We are now forced to spend extra ***** dollars for less value. I really need someone from bbb to help us with this situation! This company avoid taking credit cards for two reasons, dispute and taxes. Someone need to really look into it! There are a lot of same issues going on with other couples who got the same treatment as us.
