Paid $1167.20 to Adventist Health and Rideout as directed by them for services received on 3/28/24. Received *** from insurance. My portion was only $867.02 as insurance paid/adjusted remainder. Have been requesting return of amount I overpaid $300.18 since 4/12/24. Have spoken with billing department twice and in addition my insurance has contacted them twice on my behalf. Have been advised on each contact that I would receive refund or credit to HSA within 2 weeks. Insurance representative advised me that he was forwarding a copy of the *** per Rideout request. Still no resolution after two more weeks. I then contacted Rideout customer relations on or about 5/23/24. Was advised that situation would be resolved and she herself or someone from billing would call me tomorrow . As of 6/10/24 have received no refund and no return call. Over 2 months and no refund.Initial Complaint

I had surgery on 03/20/2023, I was asked for payment up front for services prior to my insurance provider being billed. My insurance in the end covered 100% of this visit. As of 09/08/2023 I am still waiting on Adventist to issue my refund of over $1,500. I have called on multiple occasions, my insurance provider has called on my behalf and yet there is still no refund pending. They are also continuing to send me bills for services that are/have already been paid and threatening to send me to collections. It took them 30 secs to take my payment on 03/20/2023 but it's been 171 days and I still have no refund.Initial Complaint

I am not liable for this debt with Rideout Memorial Hospital I don't have a contract with the collection agency, *********************************************. They did not provide me with the original contract as requested.Initial Complaint

I went to Adventist ******************************* on 4/21/23. I was charged $241.83 for ear wax cleaning in both ears. I was told by ****************** staff and ***************** that there would only be a copayment of $35 since it is an office visit. I paid the copayment of $35. I do not owe any more money. Rideout is miscoding the service to lure lots of money from me after stating that it is an office payment with only a $35 copayment.Initial Complaint

On July 22, 2022 I had a cesarean section at Rideout Hospital where I gave birth to twin girls. The next morning, on July 23rd, a woman came into my hospital room and said we owed a payment of $********. I was confused, as I was unaware that the hospital would ask for any payment before billing my insurance. I told the woman to bill my insurance because I was sure that I had met my out-of-pocket maximum and maybe some of the claims had just not gone through yet. She told me the payment was still due. I was in a lot of pain and felt I was on the spot, so we paid the money before I was discharged.A few weeks passed and my claims went through. I had in fact reached my out of pocket **** without the ******** payment. My insurance carrier has assured me that that money is due back to me. I have spent several hours on the phone with both Rideout and *********** I went in to Rideout to try and resolve the issue in person and I contacted the patient coordinator at Rideout who was supposed to help me. No one is able to tell me where that money went and no one is willing to help me resolve the issue. I feel I have exhausted all options. This has been an issue for several months now.
