Back in October of 2022 I hired the mechanics which I was told was a team of 3 that were all owners in the company. They quoted me 1500 for a complete engine install including wiring, radiator, transmission, hoses, spark plugs, fuel pump, shift linkage, and all of the components to get my car running. They told me it would take at the most 2 weeks to complete it. We'll now we are in February and I had to have the cops come to help get my car the owner gave me an invoice for $3114.61 and would not move his vehicles that were blocking in mine at his house unless I signed a release of liability and paid him in full. He also said he was going to put a lein on my vehicle the day before and I had 7 days to pay but I couldn't pick my car up until after the 7 days. So I had to pay the money and there is approximately 65% of the work either still not done or has to be redone do to it being improper and a safety Hazzard. He also charged me for unapproved work and work that he said needed to be done that didn't. Such as replaced the belts do to him saying the new ones that came with the motor were to small but now the new ones just fall right off. Installed ground straps that were not needed. Spark plugs and wires when the engine came with them. There is a huge scratch down the drivers side of the car as well as what I believe to be oil spilt in the trunk area. When asked why he wasn't going to hold up to his end of the deal he stated those 2 other individuals no longer works there.

Incident II) # ******** - To whom this concerns, please excuse my late response. The events between Ratchets n Wrenches (I) and ******* ***** are as follows in order. November 3, 2022: Two former technicians talked with ******* ***** about what needed to be done on his **** ********* ***** The original agreement was that Mr. ***** would provide all the parts needed to get the Nova running and that the parts provided would be installed in approximately 2 weeks. After the completion of the job Mr. ***** was going to get the body repaired and painted due to several scratches and dents on the vehicle. Parts list that needed to be installed included:
      1. Vacuum lines 2. Fuel pump (mechanical) 3. Radiator 4. Sparkplugs 5. sok- plug wires 6. Distributor 7. Transmission cooler lines 8. Transmission kick down cable 9. Throttle cable

November 4, 2022: I started working on the vehicle and realized that Mr. ***** did not provide all the parts needed and some parts that were included were not correct. I called to inform Mr. ***** and any extra work would be in addition to the original quote, that I would be buying the parts needed when I could, that he would need to get some of the parts due to him knowing about the engine and transmission work done with the previous shop. November 8, 2022: I called to inform Mr. ***** about issues found trying to mount the distributor, making contact with the firewall and that the engine did not have a service port for the fuel pump he provided, adding onto the increase in parts and labor required to complete the install. He approved the additional work and said he would find the correct transmission mount needed.
November 23, 2022: I followed up with Mr. ***** about the parts needed and the status on the additional work being done. He was satisfied with the progress of the battery and fuel pump relocation.
November 28, 2022: I informed Mr. ***** of more parts that he provided (radiator hose, fittings and bushings) that were not correct and I would try to locate the correct ones needed. I also informed him of the additional work needed for the radiator fan wiring and adapter fittings required and that the starter hitting the flywheel was going to be an issue. Mr. ***** asked for an update on cost up to this point and as given a parts total up to this point. Mr. ***** responded with "OK".
November 30, 2022: Mr. ***** asked if I could install a new aluminum coolant reservoir. I said yes. This part would be supplied by Mr. *****.

      Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I was charged $150 for a tow I was told was free then out of spite the owner said those employees no longer work here. I have 4 agencies I use that I have free towels with why would I agree to pay the $150?

Furthermore the fuel pump ratchets N Wrenches is referring to was agreed to be installed for a total of $195 including parts and labor his total cost eventuallywas $370 almost a 100% increase, the pump was installed incorrectly and is leaking fuel at the gas line fitting to the pump. There should be a inline 100 micron filter before the pump and a 10-30 micron filter after the pump before the carburetor. Continuing with the fuel line ratchets and wrenches used a power steering hose for the fuel line connection to the carburetor which only connects to the first fuel port intake on the carburetor the carburetor is a double pumper and needs both fuel supplies both ports.

Ratchets N Wrenches also stated I needed new serpentine belts due to the ones that came with the motor were to small, that was a false statement and the ones the put on are way to big the original serpentine belts are on now and fit perfectly. His previous employees told me they were co owners and the vehicle would be finished in 2 weeks including sparkplug in the price of $1500 I was very upfront with this job being a complete installation and would need all mechanical parts installed and yet I was still charged for installation of parts that should of fell under the $1500 for the initial quote after his employees were at my house to look at it for a couple of hours before it left to ratchets N Wrenches house.

The car is still a very long way from starting and driving and over half of the items to get the car running and moving are not complete or not done correctly.
This is un acceptable and this company is seriously going to hurt someone one day with the poor workmanship
