Came to business to sell a vehicle, and possibly purchase a new car, with my fiance. The salesperson informed us we had to "fill out paperwork" to obtain a quote regarding the sale of our car to their business. I informed the salesperson multiple times that we did not want to run a credit check until we seen the offer for our potential trade in vehicle first. Next thing I knew, I received an email from Experian, stating that Merced Honda had filed a credit check under my name. I verbalized many times not to run a credit check and they did so without my permission. I spoke to the manager there and they gave no resolution and refused to help.Business response

Manager on duty received a completed and signed credit application from salesperson. He assumed that the person was asking for credit to buy a car . He therefore submitted the info to credit process.
Hopefully the customer understands that signing a credit application is standard for giving information to them about payments to purchase. We will try to reach customer about this when we can.

Customer submitted a signed authorization in the form of a credit application to the manager on duty. We ran the credit because we were authorized to by the customer who was trying to purchase a vehicle.
The customer can reach out to that credit bureau and ask that it be removed. We cannot do that but we will ask them to remove it the bureau asks us to.

I am rejecting this response because:
I did not authorize a credit application be submitted. I filled one out and stated to "do not submit until we receive the appraisal for the trade-in vehicle". The application was raken off rhe desk by the salesperson and was submitted without my permission and without my knowledge. Merced Honda is required to contact the credit bureau and the companies they partner with to remove the credit application they submitted.
