Over a week ago -- on 5/18 -- I sold my car to Porsche Marin. This wasn't a trade-in -- it was a straight purchase from them. At the time they did tell me they needed some time before they could issue a check since they needed to first pay off the lease on the car. The agreed upon price for the sale was $198,500. The lease payoff was $132,717.41. So Porsche of Marin owes me the difference: $65,782.59. They told me they would pay off the lease immediately but the whole process would take about 10 business days. They only explained this to me _after_ I signed the paperwork but 10 business days wasn't that bad so I agreed. Unfortunately over the past week their story keeps changing and delays keep piling up. For example they called me Wednesday saying the lease had been already paid off via wire when it hasn't. It actually took them 6 days to send the leasing company a check -- yes, a check, not a wire. They keep saying things that when I confirm them with the leasing company it becomes clear they are lying to me. At this point it may take over a month before I get my check. I have sold cars to dealerships before and it _never_ takes this long. This is definitely not normal or OK. The reality is that Porsche Marin owes me $65,782.59 for my vehicle, which is in their posession already, and they haven't paid it yet.
