I engaged Petersen Plumbing Services to replace the main water supply lines from the street and under my house with copper pipe for a total of $4,000.00 as per the uploaded contract. The contract was entered into between ****** ********************, the owner of Petersen Plumbing Services, and myself based on the scope of work I described to Mr. ******************** which included replacement of the existing *** water supply lines from the street and under my house. I also told him that I wanted the *** supply lines replaced with copper pipe because I did not want ***, which is plastic, for water supply lines since it is now known that plastic particles can migrate into the water, which is unhealthy. I told Mr. ******************** that he could inspect the existing water supply lines under the house to confirm the scope of work, but he said it was not necessary and did not do so. The work was eventually agreed to be performed in early September 2023, with a plumber named *** employed by Mr. ******************** doing the work. On the date when the work was to be done a dispute arose between Mr. ******************** and myself with the regard to the scope of work. Mr. ******************** stated that replacement of the old *** water supply lines with copper was more than what he agreed to and he threatened to have *** leave, leaving the work unfinished. After a period of heated discussion during which Mr. ******************** refused to do any more work, I told *** to leave because I was concerned that he might somehow interfere with the water supply to my home. A few days later Mr. ******************** called me and apologized. In addition, he agreed to finish the job according to the scope of work I described. A couple of weeks later *** came back to supposedly finish the job. After arriving at the house and then went out and bought supplies to finish the job, and brought the supplies back to the house, after which he left and never came back. I subsequently talked to Mr. ******************** about finishing the job and he said another plumber, ****, would come out to finish and that *** had been terminated. **** eventually came out in late November to finish the job and when he was done, I paid the $1,000.00 final payment by credit card as per the contract. Some days later I determined that our yard irrigation system did not work because **** had disconnected the irrigation system from the water supply but did not reconnect the irrigation system when the copper pipe was installed. I again called Mr. ******************** and he said he would come out and finish the job himself. I had several calls with him after that trying to schedule getting the job finished without getting a date to get it done. Mr. ******************** stopped returning my calls and responding to messages I left for him at his office. As a result, I submitted a dispute of the final payment to my credit card company and the credit card company reversed the charge. I recently spoke to Mr. ********************s office manager, Mr. ******************** would not talk to me, who told me that Mr. ******************** will not do the work and he will not send anyone to do it unless I pay the $1,000.00 and I told him that I will not pay it until the job is finished, as per the contract. Now I must have another plumber complete the project and I want a refund sufficient to cover that cost.
