I bought a vacuum from this business, a door-to-door business, but they did not approach me in that sense. They had one of their employees ring my doorbell and pretend she was a student volunteering for a college professor. She asked questions about my ******************* She claimed for participating I would be entered in a raffle in which I could win a room air purifier. Received a call indicating that I won & that they would like to schedule a time to come over to bring it. We scheduled it, when they arrived, they demoed their product. I ended up purchasing it because of the medical grade air purifier. I did not need to use the carpet/floor washer immediately, but when I did I realized that it was not working. I contacted them about it but they kept questioning my intelligence, they thought I did not know what I was talking about or looking at. I felt discriminated against because I am a Mexican woman. I am also an Engineer, can read, write & speak English fluently thus I felt extremely discriminated against, they gave me the impression they thought I was stupid because of my ethnicity. I kept calling until they finally brought someone to check (a Mexican woman as well), I explained everything I did and the steps I took to troubleshoot (which I got from online and physical manuals). We both tried everything we could but did not work. She called her manager (a white male) and he felt we were dumb and did not know what we were doing. He finally came to my home and again I explained my troubleshooting steps. He was a bit condescending and made me feel he did not believe a word I was saying. After he did his troubleshooting he finally admitted that the device was faulty. I told him I would return it, but the company owner (a white male) threatened to *** me because I signed a contract. I kept it and they discounted. Fast-forward to now, I bought replacement parts but have not received them since I purchased back in May. The owner has been ignoring my calls.
