I had an appointment for an MRI scheduled today, 4/21 at 1pm for ************************* 11/05/1983. Upon arriving the receptionist promptly took care of me, but upon completing paperwork I was told I was required to pay $200 due to my deductible. I informed her my deductible had been met. She looked back at the computer and agreed it showed that but that the insurance only pays 80% after deductible and my portion came out to $200. I asked her to bill me and she said she couldn't. I questioned if I would still be getting my mri done as I couldn't afford $200 on the spot. She said no. I said so you're refusing me service? She said she wasn't refusing me a service bc they called me 2 days prior to tell me about the amount due. I said but I'm here and clearly didn't get the message and you're telling me I can't be seen unless I pay that's called refusing a service. She proceeded to tell me there was sign stating that payment was due at the time of visit and when I couldn't find it and asked her where it was she laughed, looked around and couldn't find it. Suddenly she said the sign was hanging next to the entrance which was too far for me to see or read so I had to use 2 credit cards to be able to pay and have my mri done. Afterwards, as I was leaving the sign she was referring to was not a sign stating payment was due, but informing customers of the facilities performance standards. I proceeded to call my insurance company to inquire about my benefits. They said the lab was in network and they cover 100% of payments after the deductible is met which it was. I went back in to the office to speak to the receptionist and when I told her my insurance covers this visit 100% she again laughed at me. I told her there was no reason to laugh at me being mad to pay for something I didn't need to and she stated she couldn't help me as I needed to take it up with billing.

On December 19, 2021, I was seen at Modesto Radiology Imaging for an MRI of my left knee. During my check in, I advise the receptionist that this was a workers comp case. The receptionist confirmed that she had my paper work from worker comp and would be billing them for the services. On 1/25/2022, I received an expiation of benefits from my ************************** which stated that Modesto Radiology Imaging had billed them for the procedure I had completed on 12/19/2021. On 3/14/2022, I spoke with the Modesto Radiology Imaging billing department concerning the incorrect billing. The agent I spoke with was ******. According to ******, *********** elected to **** my personnel health insurance first and only **** workers compensation for the remining balance. When I let ****** know of the fraudulent billing practices, she advised me that she was in ********** and cant do anything for the billed claim. ****** confirmed that Modesto Radiology has all the correct documentation on file and the approval letter from my work comp adjuster stating that they will be covering the procedure. ****** then stated that sometimes it is easier to **** a persons personal health insurance rather than going through a work comp adjuster. I advised ****** that her company needs to reach out to my personal health insurance and advise them of the incorrect billing. ****** stated that she could not do that since they already paid. I reminded her that her company is fraudulent billing my personal insurance. She stated that its not her fault nothing can be done now.
