Once again I've been referred to this agency for homeless assistance through the county HSA. The previous time I was being assisted by CHSS I left a review that they might not like but it was based on the level of service I have received from them periodically for a few years. I hope they aren't giving me the cold shoulder in retaliation but it's definitely pretty chilly. I was contacted by phone for the intake and that's just answering general questions about demographics. I received a list of rentals. ( Not a list of property managements/landlords actively working with the program.) Just a list of rentals. I requested assistance with my pending application for an apartment at a new low income complex. The property manager is rejecting my kids birth certificate verifications though they are valid and accepted by every gov ******* The response was a phone number to basically call someone else don't ask them for assistance. I need them to sign my fee waiver forms as I only have a few days to get the original documents. Apparently they won't help me with getting the documents or with getting the complex to process my application. I thought it was all part of the *** coordinated entry services that is outlined in the uses for the funding they receive. Without the wraparound services the homeless assistance funds seem to be wasted.

Iam sorry to hear that they would not pay your security deposit They  paid my sec deposit at $2200.00 and yours was much less so I think you are right .they don't help the people who need it .

I believe that Community Housing and Shelter Services are giving state donations of funds to themselves. I was homeless and in desperate need of security deposit assistance so that I would be able to move into a home that was willing to except myself and my disabled husband also our sec 8 housing voucher, This place is not and I repeat not helping but in fact putting people in more jeopardy for believing in their false hopes of financial help only to be told I dont qualify because my request of $1300 was too high by $100 so they rejected my request without remorse or even willingness to hear my cry for their help. I understand why they dont meet with people in person and they do work over the phone only, is so much easier to tell the people they claim to help NO

They are the main continuum of care for homeless assistance and prevention in the county. They say they provide rental assistance and the county homeless assistance program sends you to them for assistance finding a rental while the county puts you in a motel for 16 days. They do not provide any assistance. They give you an outdated list of rentals that the program will not allow you to rent as they are over budget. They tell you you have to apply at a rental each day or they will remove you from the motel. They do not help with the application fees and scaring people into paying for application fees for rentals that they will not be able to rent with the program is unfair. They pick and choose some people who they actually have helped. They are completely wasting all the funding for homeless assistance.
