In April of 2021 I purchased a used transmission from California auto parts, and in order to be sure it was correct they were given the vehicle identification number (vin) to confirm the correct part. Upon arrival there was visually no difference from the original but after it is installed a check engine light came on stating its the incorrect transmission. I call them back and make them aware just asking for correct replacement, and receive no response. I park the car for a few months due to finances and time and when I finally have enough to pay for a second transmission installation and ask them to swap out for a correct one they tell me I have to drive 2+ hours away to pick it up, so I do and when I get there the one they have is incorrect and theyve wasted my gas and time. From there it takes them a month or more to send me another that is visually different. From there I spent another month attempting to get the correct one which they finally say they dont have. They offered me a refund of $712 out of $1050 that I spent and claimed they were for shipping and also a restocking fee which was never stated or told to me and I feel in this case should not come out of my refund since I never received a correct part, months of drawn out terrible service, and zero communication unless I engaged with them.
