It is with great heartache that I have to take the time to write this letter. My wife and I are the proud owners of a 2017 Honda Pilot which we purchased from ******** Jaguar. We live in Sonora **********, which is three hours away from the point of purchase. We chose Honda because of the reputation, dependability, and high quality. However, recently our vehicle has shown warnings, including but not limited to, the check engine light, and emissions problems, which appear on our dashboard. Since that time, my wife and I have been stressed out due to multiple people being involved, conflicting information from representatives of three different companies, mechanics, and diagnostic checks. I have created a full report and attached it to this complaint (see below).Business response

Retrieved DTC P0430 and vehicle failed the air fuel test cylinder number 6. Per Honda warranty extension ****** if DTC P0430, P030X, and/or P219A/B replace the fuel injectors. Fuel injector kit has been ordered, parts are currently on backorder. This repair will be covered by American Honda at no charge to ****************.
*********************** called customer's extended warranty (Portfolio) spoke with a representative by the name of ****** *************). The claim number ********. *********************** was informed that the timing belt would not be covered by Portfolio's policy since it's considered a maintenance item.

I took my 2019 Honda accord to mistlin Honda of *******,**. Because my car was parked and the airbags deployed, I have video footage of it happening, the car is under warranty and they refuse to fix.Business response

Good morning, ******************** vehicle was inspected by our Honda District and Parts Manager. It was determined the alleged spontaneous airbag deployment would not be covered under factory warranty. We advised **************** to open a claim with his vehicles insurance company. When the vehicle arrived at our shop the passengers lap belt outer tensioner was un-bolted from the *** pillar. Please let me know if additional information is needed. Thank you.Initial Complaint

We purchased 2015 Honda Accord from mistlin Honda with extended warranty.2020 stater went out starter replaced with rebuilt stater 2/04/20 . Starter lasted 15 months they replaced third starter 7/02/21 with another rebuilt starter. Starter lasted 3 months car fails to start at least **** times a week. Time for a forth starter however my extended warranty is now expired. I sent to messages to Honda requesting a brand new starter no more rebuilt my messages have been ignored. The service writer at Honda told me that they have had lots of problems with accord starters but no recalls have been issued. I wii not accept another rebuilt starter my wife drives several of our grandkids to school every day and doesnt turn off the car for fear it wont restart. Maybe this will get me an answer. I have attached copies of the two repair orders where we replaced the starter. *** repairs were covered by his Honda Care Contract. *** contract expired (miles) on 12/12/2022 or ******* miles. *** vehicle is not currently at our shop. Do you happen to know who has diagnosed the vehicle this time? I have not received any request for a new starter. Im assuming our customer reached out to American **************** ************** Please let me know if further information is needed. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:I sent a letter to your website on comments someone emailed me asking if I would likke to buy a new car. No diagnosis necessary its doing the exact same thing the first two starters were doing when your mechanic diagnosed it No more rebuilt starters new only if you cant do that Ill have someone else do it. Another rebuild would be a waste of my time. The current starter you just replaced fails to start at least 3-4 times a day then after a few trys it starts just like the other onesBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because:last 2 times it took your tech 3 days to diagnose the bad rebuilt starters they installed Im not doing that again I will bring my car in for a new starter not a rebuild 1 day only were going on our fourth starter now enough of this c*** If you cant do this Ill purchase a brand new one and install it myself. And eventually trade it in somewhere else. I worked for Mistlin Honda body shop before it closed. I paid a lot of money for your warranty these rebuilt starters dont work. A simple yes or no will do. If you would have answers my message I sent to your web site instead of asking me if I wanted to by a new car all of this could have been avoidedBusiness response

I can make sure it does not take three days to diagnose your vehicle. As well as offer a courtesy vehicle while your Accord is at Mistlin Honda. I have seen where the Start/Stop switch can cause the vehicle not to start at times, similar to a faulty starter. A Honda Re-manufactured starter has a 3 year ****** mile warranty, where as a new part has a 1 year ****** mile warranty. If in fact the starter is faulty I will need to get our Honda Rep involved in order to get a new starter authorized for installation. Thank you for your time.
