The business in question, Pelandale Self Storage, has increased my rent 38% in the last 6 months. That is excessive and is indicative of predatory practices that are tantamount to unfair business practices and extreme manipulation of customers. Six months ago my rent for my storage space was $136. It went up to $160 and now just six months later, it has gone up to $190. That is a 38% increase in rent in just 6 months. That is extremely excessive, unfair, manipulative and morally wrong. That is three major rent increases in just 6 months. I have sent in the $30 because I have no choice at this time. I am not able to move my stuff out of the storage space at this time. However, I am requesting that I be reimbursed the $30 that the company has demanded from me this month and that my rent be rolled back to $160 and kept there for at least one more year and that it not be increased by more than 5% per year for the next 10 years. That would be a reasonable solution as I see it. If the company is not willing to come to terms with me on this matter, I will research other legal options of remedy that are at my disposal. I intend to pursue every legal avenue possible and to see to it that my interests are protected to the fullest extent of the law in this matter. I will not be a victim of predatory, manipulative, ill-begotten business practices by Pelandale Self Storage or by any other predatory company. BTW, they said that they sent me notification of the billing increases. Not true. On 11/7, 8 and 9 they sent emails that told me to see the attached notice. There was NO NOTICE attached in ANY of those emails! And so I was NOT notified of this latest rent increase in ANY of their so called notices!
