On Saturday 9.July.2022, at 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Pacific time I paid over $50 at Chevron gas station (502 New Los Angeles ave Moorpark, Ca 93021) for fuel and a car wash. The business owed me a car wash without the expectation of receiving damage as I have a right to a car wash without the burden of accepting damage. Immediately before entering the wash I cleaned bird scat off the car, folded in my mirrors, and entered the car wash code into machine; all of which caused me to circle the vehicle at which time I noticed that my car was intact and the chrome spoiler on trunk top was not damaged at all. After the wash I parked my car and noticed the chrome spoiler was broken off of the vehicle by the car wash. This spoiler was the original stock part of the vehicle that was factory installed. I notified the attendant who told me the manager would send me to a local repair shop for repairs and reimburse me and then instructed me to return on Monday as the manager of the service station was not in until Monday. I took pictures of the vehicle and receipt. When I returned on Monday, The manager (Abbas, Fatemi) of the Chevron service station in Moorpark, Ca (502 New Los Angeles ave Moorpark, Ca 93021) acknowledged the damage having taken place at Chevron; however he claimed the part was loose before entering wash and that the business/company had zero liability. The car wash is not insured. The part in question of the vehicle was not loose as the mounts and bolts/screws were still securely and tightly fastened to the trunk, the spoiler was broken off not pulled off as displayed in my pictures. Repair will cost $400 - $500... just under my auto insurance deductible. He refused to do anything after admitting fault. When I contact Chevron company, they attempt to distance themselves from the business. Matter has yet to be resolved; the business is liable it was their equipment on their property that caused damage. Register # 1, trans. # 8709, invoice #: E/D016413. Please Help

We hope this message finds you well, and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, We are committed to bringing justice to this case (complaint ID 17555274) and appreciate your cooperation.

Moorpark Chevron has been trying to peacefully resolve the customer's concerns, however, due to the customer's hostile behavior, working with him as been nearly impossible, In fact, we had to speak with the customer's mother just to be able to communicate effectively.

Per our explanation to the customer and his mother, our video footage dearly shows that the spoiler part on the customer's trunk was loose, which is common for cars more than ten years old such as the customer's car, and per the warning sign at the front of the wash, cars with loose part(s) should not enter the car wash under any circumstance as the loose part(s) may not only damage the customer's car, but also our car wash, Not only do we not accept liability or
fault for this matter, the customer actually put our car wash at risk of being damaged!

We showed the video footage to the customer, however, he refused to accept the evidence and began his hostile antics once again.

We have a zero tolerance policy for customers who harass our employees verbally and/or physically, So to prevent our employees from harm, we will settle and pay the customer the requested $400,00 he claimed to us previously, although once again, we do not accept any fault or liability. This is only for the safety and well being of our employees.

We hope the BBB can understand this difficult situation, and please feel welcome to reach out should you have any further questions or concerns,

      Regards,
      Moorpark Chevron
