I found a vehicle from these folks on **** that I believed would suit my purposes. After chatting with them about the state of the ** and the amenities it offered, I decided to put in an offer on the vehicle, paid a deposit for it, and scheduled an inspection with the understanding that I would purchase it pending the results of the inspection. I took two days off of work, flew to ********** and went to the site the next day to meet the inspectors and what I assumed would be the seller. The seller was not there, nor had he set up the ** as I had requested (and he confirmed) per the instructions of the inspectors. Even doing the small amount they were able to do, it became clear very quickly that I had been severely misled. There was rust on the vehicle, water damage on the inside, and the water heater was in a state that alarmed my inspectors just to name a few things. None of this damage was visible in the photos, nor was it disclosed in my communications with the seller. At the advice of the inspectors, I chose not to move forward with the purchase and requested my deposit back from the seller. I received no response. I reached out to **** to file and claim and they did work with me. They also asked the seller to willingly return my deposit and he refused. In the end, they filed a claim and I will be getting reimbursed my deposit. After this experience, however, I decided to leave a review on **** to warn others of my experience. I received an angry message accusing me of "trying to get free money" from him (among other clear lies), which I found ironic, considering he kept my money that I received nothing for from him, and I took quite a loss between paying my inspectors and traveling to CA which I will not recover, not to mention my wasted time. I have emails and messages on ****, as well as two ** inspectors to back my claim here. The level of unprofessionalism here is incredible. It's possible I am unique in my bad experience, but I needed to warn others.
