I brought in 4 items of vintage clothing to be repaired.I am a vintage seller and collector. 2 of the 4 items were ruined by Le's. The first one was a velvet 1910s coat. It had small tears near the back of the collar. When I marked them w tailors chalk like the lady asked me to, she then proceeded to roughly tear up the collar as I stood there. Later in the week when I phoned to see if the items were ready I was told that this coat had "ripped" while they were sewing and it was "too difficult" to fix. I expressed that I was willing to pay more if they could patch the tear. The resulting work looked like someone went crazy with the sewing machine. The stitches were zigzagged and erratic and very visible & unprofessional looking. I asked the owner(?) if he would wear something that looked like this and he shrugged. The second item that was ruined was a vintage 1920s kimono with embroidery. This also had some small tears near the back of the neck. I noticed when I was inspecting the items that the sleeve on one side was completely detached from the body of the kimono. This was not the condition it was in when I brought it for repair, nor was I advised of any issues. They quickly stitched the sleeve back on. I paid 50 in cash for this insulting and low quality work and rude service. Not only that but when I returned home I discovered why the sleeve was not attached. They had made repairs to both armpits by cutting into the embroidery and adding a black satin fabric that doesn't match the silk crepe. I did not ask for anything to be done to the armpits so I assume they damaged the garment and had to make both sides match as they did this on both sides and cut into the embroidery on both sides. They also left strips of fabric hanging on the inside of the armpit where the sleeve was reattached. Truly unacceptable work and these are items that I can't just run out and replace. I paid 75 for the velvet coat & 45 for the kimono & was going to sell them for 300 and 350
