I started my business back in April of 2021 via Legalzoom. Upon doing so, I was somehow enrolled for all of these recurring charges that I never asked for or approved of. One such charge was $*** for a registered agent when I had already obtained those services elsewhere (the exact same services) for $30. When I called the office I was told that I would be refunded this amount back in 2021 as I had never requested that service. I thought I had been refunded until just about a month ago, on June 1, 2022, when I was charged again $*** to renew a service I never wanted to begin with. I received refunds for three other recurring charges I never wanted, but legal zoom stayed on as my registered agent and never refunded the money. I called the office, waited on hold for over an hour, just to be told that I would have to pay them more money to remove themselves as RA from my business!! Not going to happen. Instead, I reached out to the state myself, sent in paperwork to do this, and paid the state fee. When I called them back today I was hung up on by their CSR who told me that he wouldn't refund me when I asked for his name. All this after waiting on hold to speak with him for 54 mins! This is not the first complaint I haven filed regarding this company I have tried to ask for assistance thru BBB to have Legal zoom stop all billing. I was not seeking reimbursement at this point. They have continued to bill me and send emails indicating they need a current credit card to close the account. I have written emails requesting to speak to someone and no one has responded. It seems that I should be able to resolve this with them without involving the BBB but it has been impossible. I do not want to go to court but I do want them to do what they were suppose to do stop all billing and close the account and provide me with a ledger of all the accounts. I have attempted to cancel my subscription and they refuse to cancel by chat or email. They provided me with the phone # of ************ use option 1 then option 4. I have called this # two days in a row after 2 and one half hours on hold I finally hung up. I called them back on their other # and they transfer you back to this # claiming they can not access the subscription portion of the system to assist me. This is fraudulent activity to keep me from canceling my subscription .Business response

May 20,2022 Legal Zoom sends me the paperwork for the LLC which was filed with the incorrect zip code. I immediately contacted them and was informed they would look into the matter and perform any corrections since i was covered for 30 days. I have emailed and called several time to no avail. The generic answer we are looking into the matter. I finally called Legal Zoom on 6/22/22 only to be told that I was the one who made the error and there was nothing they could do. Pay more money and they can resolve the situation. Had I not called I would have not been told that they could not correct the matter. I explained to them that int he compliance center my zip code appears correctly and the answer was either I entered that or it was changed. I paid about 800 dollars for them to process this LLC for me and it has been more work than had I filed the LLC myself.Business response

Signed up for service 9/3/19. Canceled 9/5/19. Never received notice that a bill was due and have not logged into that account since I cancelled. Caine and Weiner collections agency is now contacting me about a $249 collection fee. 3 years later, I get one notification that a payment is due.Business response

06/21/22 It has been almost impossible to cancel my account with LegalZoom. I've contacted them via phone/email and I've spent over an 25 hours on HOLD where I would eventually hang up because nobody would answer. Strange because when they needed money from me they answered immediately. Anyway.. Their website is no help either as to how to cancel my account. It's an endless loop and meanwhile, there is no way to keep them from charging me again for a business that Has never even made1 dollar . This account must be canceled ASAP. I reviewed other complaints prior to making mine. I had to eventually file with the BBB in hoping to get my money back.Business response

Have tried to disolve a buisness that Legal Zoom was my registered agent. 6/21/2022 was my third time sending them the documents they said they needed to file the paperwork with Pennsylvania to do this and stop charging me. They just say they never receive the paperwork and to send again. I have no recourse no way to get them to file the disolution and stop charging me. Now you get it and its done same day and how about the bill you sent to collections ? What are you doing with that? I've been a customer of LegalZoom since December 2021. I've spent********** of dollars on their products and services; never had any issues or concerns until recently. Earlier this year, I had a brief conversation with a tax advisor who presented great information regarding taxes. I then informed her that I needed to consult with my team before continuing with the tax service plan however, if they agreed, I would move forward with the services. The tax advisor asked if she could place my card on file so that it could be there if they decided to move forward. I agreed to its placement however, its been a whirlwind since then. Unfortunately my card wasn't just placed on file as a placeholder, LegalZoom has been charging by card $159 monthly since the beginning of the year for a service that I did not agree to nor use. I've tried disputing the charges with my credit card company and even closed the credit card however, they've informed me that LegalZoom has a system in place to automatically update with the new card information. I've also tried contacting LegalZoom a plethora of times, waited countless hours to speak with a representative and could never get anyone on the phone until today 06/21/2022, and waited 3hrs 50 minutes to find out that its been past 60 days, so I cannot unsubscribe. It is very unfortunate and mind-boggling, that I am locked into a contract that I did not agree to, nor sign and am not using the services until next year. It is completely fraud for LegalZoom to continue stealing the money that I am working to invest in my businesses and so carelessly refuse to help me by refunding the money and unsubscribing. I would totally understand if I agreed to the service however, there was never an agreement.Business response

LegalZoom continues to charge me a 249.00 fee for a service I don't not use. I initially used them to get an LLC setup which is no longer active. However, they are continuing to charge me for Registered Agent Service with no option to cancel. I'm simply trying to cancel this service to stop them from charging me 249.00 whenever they feel like it. I would also like to get my money back from the charge since it's a service I'm not using. When trying to call in to speak to someone it is impossible. I've sat on hold for over 3hrs before with no answer and the call being dropped. They are charging me a service for an LLC that doesn't exist. And not allowing me to cancel.Business response
